Wizard status also. I hope everyone over here can rally together and support this great project.
Good luck.

Thank you for your support!   :)

I wanted to mention that one of the best things you guys can do, even for those that can't make a pledge right now is to share and spread the word about the Kickstarter.

There is a "share" bar near the top of the Kickstarter page for sharing on twitter, facebook etc.

Feel free to post and link to the Pinball Labs Kickstarter on other forums where people might be interested!

link paypal ?

Unfortunately Kickstarter does not appear to support PayPal at this time.  Their response is that they support most credit cards.  If you can find away to pledge using a supported credit card that would be great.   For those that can't I will be setting up a PayPal method later with the same pledge rewards.  (However it would probably be best to wait until it's clear whether the Kickstarter is going to reach the campaign goal before doing that.)

I know it's a totally new platform to build on, but, would there be any consideration to allow existing VP authors to import objects from already complete VP tables.
Just thinking about how you can quickly build a collection of tables to be available at release.
This would also make it an easier transition for existing authors who already have an extensive collection of resources.

I've thought a lot about that.  As you say it would be very useful.  The conclusion I came to was that I'm going to try to make the data files for Pinball Labs tables as easy to work with as possible.  That way it would be conceivable for someone to write a standalone tool that could do a partial conversion of a VP or FP table to a Pinball Labs table.

There are always going to be some differences though.  The way the lighting works is a bit different in VP than Pinball Labs for example.

heres my 2cents... FP has been abandoned for a while, it still being considered closed source is just silly... just like shoopity said... its already been altered physics wise and expanded graphically with bam... also unit3d and so on... if someone really took FP to the next level, in my opinion it would be the best looking pin-sim of them all... and if the physics were properly adjusted... and of course rom support...

examples of FP tables i've worked on...    I love VPX so dont get me wrong...  again this is just my opinion...

Off topic.

Haunt, where can I find the table to the right? Looks like fun!

Some mouth watering pics for those not aware what Unreal Engine 4 can do. Now go to that Kickstarter page and hit that button! ;)

EDIT: Came along these as well. Remember those are all real-time that run at 60 frames!

I made a post on r/pinball if anyone wants to chime in on the discussion there.

https://www.reddit.c...bs_kickstarter/

I'm going to post on r/oculus tomorrow as there was already another Kickstarter announced there today.

Oculus has massive engineering resources and funding behind them.  FOVE is from a much smaller company.  The FOVE's unique feature is built in eye tracking but it is something that's still in development and dev kits aren't expected till mid 2016.  At this point they're not really comparable as the Oculus Rift is something that is almost a real polished commercial product and FOVE is sort of in the proof of concept stage.  However, the HTC Vive is the most likely direct competitor to the Oculus Rift.  They still haven't unveiled what their commercial version will look like but developers have been very impressed with their tracking technology and dev kits.  Basic answer is that it's still to early to say, none of them have made pre-orders available or even announced pricing yet, but both claim they will be launching within the next three months.

While we've had good success getting the word out about Pinball Labs here at vpforums, I haven't had as much luck on some of the other sites.

It would be awesome if some of you would be willing to add a line to your signatures that mentions the Kickstarter (on any sites with signature support and where such a thing is allowed).

@tmek....I posted a link to the alpha download over at Pinball Arcade Fans. I didn't see one there. I hope you don't mind. I was also going to do that over at Pinside, but looks like you just did that one... :dblthumb: Looks like some pretty decent interest over there.
