I just had a go at a couple of games. The screen shots do not do this table justice, you have to see the lighting in action. The first thing I noticed was the realistic transparent ramp and other plastics, and the convincing effect of the lights under them shining through them. The lighting and models on the table look more like something you would see in fp, or something with a 3d engine. It really looks cool.
It plays differently than melons awesome version, but mainly because the pov is slightly different. As with melons version, the ball movement and physics are convincing and the flow of the game is great. I am well experienced with ft and was able to adapt to aimed shots very quickly.
In the two fairly short games I played, I didn't experience any hangups or bugs. I will note that I did experience some slight ball stutter during some intense light sequences and multiball in this wip version of the table. I do not have the newest pc, a core 2 2.4ghz, 4gb of ram and and nvidia 9800 1gb video card, but I am able to run every other table w/o stutter. This table looks incredible and as a result it is more demanding than other vp tables. This is not meant as a criticism, most people probably have faster pcs, and as stated before the table is in wip. The stutter I experience is occasional and not game stopping, I am still enjoying it thoroughly.
I gotta go play a couple more games before bed. Thanks rdeejay!
