Thanks for the feedback guys, I will take a look tonight. I think there are two reasons: my model is rounded on the top, where the real one is flat. And secondly, I will have to add some gloss/scratches/dirt on the reflection, so it's not a perfect mirror anymore. Hope I can fix it without remodelling the whole thing.

It looks soooo fantastic. The real one couldn't look better. :love39:

If the physcis are good, this will be a table for the "Game of the week"-tournament!

And I think, they will be good. :otvclap:

I think it's also that your reflection is a perfect 1:1 reflection as though it was almost straight on, rather than a distorted scaled reflection as per the photo. Really nitpicking here

I think, it's absolutely ok: the shape of the 3D jukebox is a bit different to the original one and the viewing angle is different on both images, that's why...

A few scratches as flupper mentioned wouldn't be bad, to give it a bit more realism, but I think it is quite good as it is now...

Ok flupper, now that you know this, you can go on finishing the table without wasting time on the jukebox :lusty:

I think in the real jukebox, it seems like more of the metal surface can be seen blended with the reflection... like a "transparent" reflection vs. a more "opaque" looking reflection in the recreation.

The scaling of the reflection, it looks like a sheet of plastic with the checker pattern was just dropped onto the model, like shrink wrapped, it's like a 1:1 tiling ratio where as the photo shows fewer tiles.  Also as the reflection tapers to the top it becomes increasingly obscured by the metal/chrome texture.  Once the reflection tiling is made to satisfaction you could likely just layer it with the old texture in photoshop and adjust opacity.

I changed the primitive to have a more flat top and added a glasslike layer, like a mirror has. I also overlaid some faint reflection on top:

Let me know what you think...

Looks more realistic but the previous polished mirror was also nice.

I think that it would be nice to have an option so that the user could choose. The previous mirror version was less realistic but I would still have preferred that one.

This looks great, Flupper.  But, for the love of all things good in this world, please don't let perfection become the enemy of great in this case!  In spite of all of the great fine tuning tips that you may receiving, some of us are DYING to play this table!  So please, hook your brothers up with a WIP before you appease all the critics!   :db:   In other words, either version of the jukebox chrome is damn amazing!  Let's start pinballin'!

I agree with both of you. Really going crazy to play this table, even with my busy schedule I'm checking this thread daily. But it's up to flupper to release the beauty.

A WIP is of couse more then welcome, but if he decides to release a perfect table like Black Knight 2000 then it's up to him. In the end it will be worth the wait I'm sure !

After all these hours I surely want to release it as well, but I would not want to if it will feel unfinished. So give me some time to add proper sounds, b2s support, fix the clock (for some reason it only spins in one direction...), add animation to the ramp, the drophole cover in the shooterlane and the diverter, update code for outdated scripting, etc. As with BK2K the first version should look good and be very playable. With your feedback on that one I will do the last updates for version 1.1.

Flupper you are definitely a perfectionist and just want to release a world class product. Looking at your screenshots is apparent to see all the painstaking work and attention to detail you've done to make you table the best it can possibly be in VPx and  then seeing those god awful jaggies really detracts from it. I hope someday in the near future Toxie/fuzzel can address this.

Today updated the "all lights off because you tilted me" look:

screenshot910_t.jpg

Diner only shuts down the GI for ball lock (briefly) and when tilted.
