The Italian keyboard not have the tilde key, this makes impossible to adjust the volume of certain tables, if you could have the possibility to map this function on another key.

Thanks

New build is up..

It mainly adds even more speed improvements for ARM7 based games (e.g. Whitestar II) by mjr.

So sound stutter in general should now be a thing of the past for the majority of the pinmame supported games!

now for something different:

an experimental version supporting external sound files! it is currently for example also rudimentary compatible with the PinSound packages..

if you wanna test it:

- create an 'altsound' folder in your PinMAME directory

- create a folder inside 'altsound' with the name of the machine/ROM (so for example 'ij_l7' for the latest Indiana Jones ROM)

- dload one of the sound packages from the pinsound webpage and put all the subfolders (sfx, music, jingle, etc) directly into this machine folder (for example the 'Indiana Jones Reorchestration' package)

-> so you would have something like c:\pinmame\altsound\ij_l7\jingle\000106-monkey_brain_award\Monkey Brain Award Reorchestrated.wav

(and a ton of other files of course)

- play the corresponding VP-table as usual, but decrease the ROM-volume to 0 OR disable the ROM-sound in the script

its an early early test version so don't be mad if some games don't work as expected (so far i tested TZ,IJ,T2,AFM a lot, these are close to perfect i think/hope).

I finally had a chance to try this out. I tested IJ Reorchestrated, TAF Remastered with Original Voices, and the TZ DCS soundtrack.

TAF slowed VPM to a crawl. These were in ogg format instead of wav. And maybe relatively large files compared to some of the other sound packages. Must be a lot of overhead in decompressing these files.

IJ Reorchestrated was extremely impressive. Most of the sounds were taken from Blu-ray sources. But it did not have any negative impact on gameplay at all. Nice upgrade.

It's a great feature. I hope that it makes its way into the main release soon.

The new beta is listing "Galaxy Play 2". Is the game working? When i start the ROM test, it shows the alphanumeric display - even though i have no ROM .zipfile. And the rom check shows checksum "0x00000000", means normally means it's not available?! Is it?

The ROMs for glxplay really are Galaxy Play 2 (game #1382), as we just found out. GP1 is #1083 (as seen in this image: http://ipdb.org/show...631&picno=58913). We might get a dump of the GP1 ROMs this week.

So with the current VPM beta - when i tell the table to load glxplay, i'm really playing Galaxy Play 2? Nice find! ;)

@Surf'n Safari

I have noticed that sometimes the banks target does not reset (all targets remain down until the end of the ball or the game),

it seems to happen when two targets are hit at the same time

or during the bank reset, when a target is hit immediately.
Today I remembered that the same thing happens with Gladiators, so it may be a general problem with Premier / Gottlieb tables.
A timer that delays the target Hit event, seems to solve the problem.

Thanks

Max

Would it be possible to release an updated experimental version with PinSound support? With the old release I have the known sound problem in IJ and STTNG.

currently trying to catch up, so hopefully soon..

for now there is an updated 'normal' build:

- add new routine from Unit3D team (ChangedLEDsState)

- support for Premier's Amazon Hunt II, Stargame's Iron Balls, CICPlay's Galaxy Play 2

- compiled with VC2015, so please test if everything still works as expected (especially you win xp users, let me know if you face problems)

I can't register the new dll, I've tried installing the 2015 redistributable but it didn't help.

Same here, I can't register the new dll either by clicking on setup.exe and then Install button. Same error received. Unblocking the dll did not fix the issue.

Can I suggest that you put the old build in the meantime?
