Hello again,

here I am again with the third (and for now the last) preview of new 'directB2S' backglasses. All previous backglasses are included in this download package plus a new 'directB2S' server plus a few new backglasses plus one extra backglass. But one after another.

Here is the download link: http://www.mediafire...xecwigwptajee1v

As always, please
  • Unzip all files into your VP tables folder and overwrite already existing files with this new ones
  • Start the EXE and the server dll should be registered automatically (with Win7 start the exe as administrator). There should be NO NEED to register once again when you have done this with the previous version
  • If you haven't downloaded the matching tables from VPForums then please do this
  • Well-known from UVP you have to change one line in the script code. Change the CreateObject line in the table script to "Set Controller=CreateObject("B2S.Server")".
Everything you need is included in this download package. Please do not use an older version of the server dll.

As always, a few words to the new backglasses:
  • ELVIRA: A wonderful and pretty fast new version of this table from JP. I'm really happy with this backglass. It is not 100% realistic, on purpose. Wonderful new LEDs on the backglass with a lot action. Maybe pretty demanding for your system so tweak it?!
  • THE ADDAMS FAMILY: Started yesterday in the night as I stumbled into a thread of a B2S version of TAF. I have included a 'mini' grill for the 3 monitor setup and a standard grill for a 2 monitor setup because of the 'THING' thing :). Pretty interesting for me.
  • GORGAR: A table from the late 70's. I know this backglass is a lot simpler than the others. It was an experiment how long it would take to create a backglass from scratch just with a look inside the UVP (thanks FD). About 45 minutes. I will update this backglass some day.
  • PLAYBOY: Was my first backglass in the designer. I startet this thread with a few screenshots from 'Playboy'.
Attached File  Elvira.jpg   202.86KB   186 downloads

... and here 'The Addams Family' with (what I called) the 'mini' or a standard grill (both in one B2S backglass file)
Attached File  TAF_MiniGrill.jpg   280.07KB   227 downloads Attached File  TAF_Grill.jpg   300.92KB   202 downloads

And another 'diamond' is waiting for you: Tipoto created five (5!) versions of 'T2 Chrome Edition' preview backglasses. He is a big fan of a perfectly matching aspect ratio so he created three "2 monitor" and two "3 monitor" versions in different resolutions. He asked me to release all 5 version and of course I will do this so here we go:Get the best matching version for your cab. Here a preview of the 2-mon. T2 4:3, 16:9 versions and the 3-mon. T2 16:10 versions:
Attached File  T2CE_Screenshot_1600_1200.jpg   197.36KB   141 downloads Attached File  T2CE_Screenshot_1920_1080.jpg   144.22KB   137 downloads Attached File  T2CE_Screenshot_1920_1200.jpg   135.63KB   102 downloads

Please notice: This is not the final T2 backglass. Tipoto is waiting for some new images of the backglass and told me he will redo it from scratch.

Have fun.

Pretty important when you're having some stutter:
  • Check the color depth of the backglass monitor. It should be 32bit.
  • Tweak with the "Skip ... frames". Maybe start with Lamps 2 or 3, Solenoids 10 and LED 2. I haven't tested all combinations so we need some testing here.
  • Tweak with the LED type. Try to use the "Simple LEDs".
  • Save your tweak settings. I have fixed a bug and now the server is able to save the settings for each table. Just don't forget to press the "Save settings" button!!!
Last but not least, I have added three new 'Hide' buttons to the settings. Hopefully these buttons will help to setup the backglasses for all usage.

Best regards, Herweh.

Where do you make these tweaks at?

Thanks,

Nevermind, found the post where you talked about using S to change settings. Keep up the great work!

Herweh .. great job!

I really like the options you've added to choose B2S DMD, 3 screen monitor setup etc.
There's still tweakin' to be done on some (while in UVP everything runs smoothly for me), but it will be down to the fact there's more activity added in the B2S versions.

I'm really happy about the Backglass image versions you've used (the crispy clear one's instead of the 'HQ' ones 'in action' - which I think is going back to square one (=> my personal oppinion only).

I still got an issue with the fact when I start up the appropriate Table for the first time VP crashes. Starting up the Table for a second time, all runs fine (with and without using HyperPin). Would be very much appreciated if you would know why this happens ..

Again, great steps moving forward! :)

Thanks again!

Cheers,
FD.

Herweh, outstanding job on the B2S and the backglasses. They all look and perform great!

When you get a chance please check out Playboy. Display 4 has the credits/ball in play, so it you can, please add display 4 and move the current display 4 to the credits/ball in play.

This is top work and the displays look fantastic! Are you almost ready to release a version we can create out own B2S backglasses?

Great job on this. I noticed with TAF the vpinmame dmd shows up even thought I have it Hidden=1 in the script. I have a pindmd board. I looks like a bug with B2S.

Click on the background and hit 'S' on keyboard, this brings up the settings and you can check the box on Hide DMD. Works awesome now.

I had the same issue, using the 6 digit ROM version (playboy.zip). There is a 7 digit version, playboyb.zip, which should fix the problem (you need to install the ROM and modify the table script)

Silly me. I was using this version with UVP and didn't check the rom. Thank you, it works great with the 7 digit rom.

Hi ressof,

some questions:
  • Have you tried the standard VP914 version?
  • Have you tried all backglass? Are there any backglass without crash or always crashing whatever backglass you are running?
  • Is there any crash message coming up? Any information would be very helpful.
Best regards, Herweh.

A short FYI: I've started writing the first manual for the designer. I'm confident it will take only a few days, maybe till the next weekend and we can start some beta testing. I will announce it in a new thread.

I'm looking forward to it.

Wow, this is going to be a major leap forward for the backglasses. (Did that come out right)
I love editing the UVP's can't wait to play with an app that adds some serious muscle to creating backglasses.

1. Yes I tried the standard 914 version and it didnt had the problem when I ran it directly from vpinball, but when i used it with hyperpin I got the same problem.

2. I've tried Addams, T2, Elvira, Taxi, Elvis and all got the same problem.

3. I just got the Windows 7 standard message when a program dont work. First it trying to fix the problem and when it cant it says the program has been shutdown. I don't get any message from vpinball.

My version of Windows 7 is Swedish, could it be because of that?
