I have too a problem with AFM but it's not the same of you...

My problem it's , I have one ball more, when I have total annihilation or multiball , so when I have 2 ball , the mod multiball or total is stop... strange

I had make a big first ball more 170 billions + 4 extraball and I had this problem , I have finish this game with just 245 billions about... sad.gif I played for insane challenge of Dna Disturber but I loose this challenge...

ced.

I have the same problem, got sick of having a ball drain then go to bonus while still playing.
So now if I notice too many balls, hit"B" and remove ball from trough. Is distracting, but works.

Multiball should be 3

Total anihilation should be 4

Rule the puniverse should be 5

@ niliang, that is a great table, may have to try and get one me thinks.

Ahhh.....now I get it! I first interpreted "one ball more" as 'one ball remaining'; 'one ball more (than I should have)' makes everything else fit.

You mean the game serves up an unearned ball without your having added one previously? It's bad enough when a ball gets 'lost' and the ball you then have to add is counted as drained, ending that ball-in-play despite you being blameless---but to subsequently be required to give it back?! It wasn't your fault the bleedin' thing went and got lost! mad.gif

I give up on Attack from mars......no fun when...(... ball stuck behind target bank, etc...)

The ball getting trapped behind the Force Field targets may actually be beneficial, because even with only one ball active you still have multiball scoring values while you pick and aim your shots. My personal high of 118 Martians came courtesy of the Force Field 'trap'---in a game where I only scored about 30B. (I think my previous high, 91, was in the 75B game---without the 'trap'.)
Edit: Millions, Billions.....I actually went back to correct that, but got sidetracked. Didn't realize it until I read LMTR14's response. Sorry about that!

Slacking? Maybe. Cheating? I certainly don't think so; although I've never played the real deal, I think this is a physically viable event in RL and if it was deemed undesirable, it would have been designed out way back in the day. Besides, it's sometimes harder to avoid hitting those targets and releasing the ball than it is to hit them.

This Jack*Bot is definitely a game of shots/techniques to utilize---and to avoid! Multiball (especially Mega-Visor) is kind of cluttered with all three balls, so I rest one whenever I can. Naturally, there will be occasions when two balls are trapped on one flipper, but they don't last long; as soon as the outer ball (in the return lane) becomes stationary, it immediately (although slowly) sinks right through and drains! A single ball can stay trapped for days and not do that.....but not two.

Bummer.

Sure is fun watching ced, Ded and others decide who'll 'put the angel on top of the tree'. Merry Xmas, all!

while you might be able to score some bil with one-ball multiballs (and the other ball stuck), when you lose the free ball the bonus will be scored, and you'll get 2 balls instead of the regular 1 dropped into the plunger lane (dunno how you call it), losing 1 of those 2 then again counts as losing a ball, you get 2 new and so on. hence once the ball gets stuck you can give up. which happened to me more than once during promising games

and no, you can't free the trapped ball, the target bank is disabled during all multiballs (except as a scoring target during strobe multiball, of course)

fiddling around with b didn't help either

Two balls into the plunger lane? The only time I see that is when the ball I added by hitting 'B' is one of the two. (Wonder why the added ball isn't introduced to the playfield somehow, rather than apparently through the drain?) dry.gif "Shut up, malcontent!"

By the way; maybe I should restate that the version I'm playing is JP/Groni's VP8, and not one of the VP9s---there may be differences.

Anyway; just as on other tables, I've had balls disappear or get stuck irretrievably in some weird place, requiring me to either add a ball or close out and start over. However, this table has never tallied bonus prematurely when a ball was missing in action; it just sits there as if asking, "now, what?" for a while and then starts executing ball searches. After three or four of those, and if I haven't added a ball, it'll finally give up and start tallying. Any subsequent ball-in-play begins normally.

QUOTE

Yeah.....I think you're right about that, but it made me wonder if maybe the ball getting trapped is an anomaly after all, so I burned a couple of hours 'testing'---but couldn't keep my mind on the test, and wound up mostly 'playing'. Naturally, I was unable to duplicate the event, but here's what I think happens: If the saucer is under attack (force field down) when Total Annihilation starts, the Attack Wave is allowed to continue until the saucer is destroyed, at which time the force field comes back up, trapping any ball that follows the first one too closely. Tonight, though, the targets stayed down each time i thought I 'had it', so maybe there's some other factor determining where the targets spend the rest of the Annihilation. As to freeing the trapped ball, I refer to the previous paragraph: when there are no free balls left, the game eventually searches by bumping, slinging, kicking and dropping the force field targets, which releases the ball and play continues. I therefore needn't worry about hitting targets when I'd rather not. whtflag.gif

I never add balls on the vp9 version, if a ball is stuck it bumps free or ball search finds it if stuck behind the targets. Sometimes the ball will sit in the top of the right ramp, a bang back with "T" will fix that.

It sometimes will add an extra ball during the multiballs somehow, and when you get back to 1 ball, the bonus then counts down and flippers are inactive.

So if you notice more balls on the table than should be, hit "B" and select "NO". This will remove one from the trough so that it plays on as normal .... but disrupts the flow of game play.

Unsure of the VP8 version.
