Hello from Canada JP, thanks so much for your contributions to the pinball community. I noticed at your site that your WIP progress for your original table "Hell" for VP10 is no longer there? That table looked really neat, can you provide any status updates?

I guess the table is on hold, mostly because I lost a little the interest in the theme. I showed the table to some friends, and they said "really? devils as dragons, and angels in a pinball?"  So I guess they killed my interest to continue. Maybe I should re-theme the table to something else, what about a Captain America Against the RED Skull?

This kind of art has a bit of a comeback currently IMHO, so don't be afraid of continuing it.. :)

I have been playing VP for 7-8 months now but don't post much and just wanted to say thanks to all of you. You guys put in so much hard work and it is appreciated. The VP10 tables I have tried have been fantastic. The attention to detail being displayed here is impressive.

The results speak for themselves.

Thanks again.

dozer the table is incredible, what a showcase of VPX features!.... I was playing with the setting toxie mentioned... I also replaced the HDR image with one a no one I been using, it has overhead lighting aspects like in an indoor environment.... and these are the setting I used....

hauntfreaks, thanks for providing the alternate image and settings, what an awesome result! I can confirm this definitely takes care of the streaks on the ringmaster's face that so many people have reported.

Dozer, big balls or not this table really shines, especially with AO enabled. Fantastic accomplishment, thank you for pushing the VP10 envelope even further. You've made a lot of pinball fans ecstatic across the globe!

Here are my stereo3D cab settings for TOTAN (now that stereo3D has been fixed and extended again/next build), it has a -really- nice 3D effect:

I tried mine on a 3D tv last week. But didn't actually do anything apart from make half of my display transparent. So , it was broken?

The parameters were off since VP9.9.X, so i fixed that and introduced an additional parameter. And for me it works like this.

oh, and you still need a NVIDIA based card to be able to use ambient occlusion and stereo3D (sorry).

Is the screen separation still available with other cards?

What I mean by this is... will VP still show a Top/Bottom split screen without an NVIDIA after pushing F10?

My test last week was done via a captured video then converted with TV, but we didn't see any 3D from it unfortunately.

Yes, the separation and all that is not dependent on that. The hope was to get this up and running with AMD, too, at some point (as in DX9 the functionality needed for this was not standardized yet), so in principal everything is functional on all cards except for one detail (=depth buffer read).

Ok sorry man, let's get this straight because I've never enabled it on the NVIDIA I have.

It's not possible to convert the VP player correctly with a 3D TV? NVIDIA stereo 3d has to be enabled to convert for you?

I haven't tried on a TV yet with latest build but I did run a quick test. On the default table the stereo values when run don't looked borked, but on one of mine the Stereo ZPD has to move up to 1.0 or 1.1, otherwise the separation is too great.

It's not dependent on the stereo API by NVIDIA, but "just" a special API call available only via another NVIDIA API (due to DX9 limitations).

It just uses post-processing, like a lot of games do (or at least did some years ago), thus the effect can be a bit ugly on some tables with a lot of overlapping table elements, but the plus is that it almost comes for free performance-wise.

And this could all be implemented on at least AMD, too, but as said, so far nobody looked into that.

As for ZPD, etc: Its all tricky to be setup initially, i agree, but if you have it figured out for your configuration once, then most of the other tables will work with similar parameters.

Also it works best/most impressive for a DT setup or if your cab has the TV mounted in parallel with the playfield-glass, otherwise you will not get much of an depth effect no matter how you tune the parameters.

Although a ZPD of 1 or above sounds weird. Usually this should work fine with 0.5, and then only the separation should be adjusted (or the new offset parameter to push the depth further into the TV (positive offset) or sometimes also "towards" the TV like with TOTAN (by using a negative offset)).

what about a new section or thread:

"finished tables for VPX"

Cirqus Voltaire seems to be finished (don't know if there are coming some tweaks here and there), so perhaps other tables are finished too?

The only problem with a finished table today is tomorrows next beta version could add features that would require that "finished" table to be updated.

I agree, we need first VPX to be completed then we can test the hell out of the tables, then each author will upload a final release of the table ;) patience my friend.
