Hi guys,

maybe somebody already asked in this long thread. Does anybody else have issues with choppy puppack playback when using the 10.7 beta ? I get really noticeable stutter in the video's.

Thanks !

Regards

Jack

Loading video stutter when launching the table? Or when playing a table with a pup pack?

There is a command line option -lesscputhreads for the loading video stutter

Hi gtxjoe, the video stutter is present when playing a table with a pup pack. So I guess the command line option does not apply in this case ?

Hi guys, i don't sure if it's know :

Mata Hari or AFM 3.02 JPsalas ( perhaps others ) in cabinet mode.

F6, change lights or camera setup, save table -> bumpers and slingshots are now inactive.

Did you use 10.6.X or 10.7 beta to save?

Hello Dev Team.

Thanks for all your work.

I don't know it this could be considered a bug but if "Alternative Depth Buffer processing" is checked in Video/Graphics options, 3D stereo doesn't work.

Tested on Win10 x64, VPX 10.7.0 release 169

Steps to reproduce it:

Open Visual Pinball > Preferences > Video/Graphics Options ... > Check the "Alternative Depth Buffer processing" box > Pull down the "3D Stereo Output" and select "TB (Top/Bottom)" option.

Load any table > press F5 to start it > press F10 to start the 3D Stereo mode.

Unfortunately the alternative depth buffer is only a last resort and does not support everything..  :/

Clone bug material, if I clone a material and rename it with a name in previous alphabetical order, a dozen extra materials with the same name are created.

In the official version VPX06 if I do the same test, the cloning of the material enters an infinite loop of cloning.

An alphabetical reordering of the material, before cloning the material, makes the cloning work correctly.

I don't exactly get your repro steps, what do you mean with 'previous alphabetical order'??

Do you maybe have a table for me with exact repro steps for that one?

10.7 beta to save, I found others tables with issues but don't remember names. the alternative solution is to export a pov file without saving table after pov or lighting changes, thanks.

Hi VP7 development team.

Id like to do some graphics and light adjustments for Wizball's ShovelKnight Table but Im unable to see the background image in VP7. Can you please give me some advice around the current playfield image view in the Editor

I ticked playfield image but  the image is not shown in the editor. Also there is no thumb nail image shown in the image manager like in VP6.  Is there something Im overlooking.

As a side note. I'm blown away by the direction this new software is heading virtual pinball. I cant stop playing JPs 3.0 tables. When opened the Pokerz and Gamatron tables I felt like Id unwrapped brand new real machines. They play. look and sound incredible.

Cheers and thank you for your help

Is this with the default/builtin table or with another one? If the latter, do you have the exact repro table, please?

The default table uses WAV files which work fine. However, I ran an experiment by converting those WAV files to OGG / MP3 and replacing the WAVs, but otherwise leaving the example table in tact. And I ran into the same sound issue.

I'm also experiencing this issue with a table I'm working on, which is unreleased at this time.

I wonder if it's my audio converter. I'll run another test with a different converter and report back.

EDIT: I confirmed it is *not* my audio converter. I ran the test using both Any Audio Converter and Audacity. And I encountered the same issues.

Do not launch table to open for editing

Right click table file and pick Edit

Or open VPX and click file > Open

If you flat out launch a table, VPX opens in kind of dedicated play mode and it does not show editor graphics etc

Hello everyone, I have beta 169 installed and I am delighted, congratulations to the creators, I do not dare to upload the version, do you recommend it?

Saludos :otvclap:

I would probably NOT re-upload the betas to mirror them

They are right there on github available to anyone already, and subject to change at any given time
anything you mirror could become invalid in an hour, or less.

And, yes you can update to version 192 from the 1st post in this thread.

And in Spanglish:

Pues puedes actualizar a la versión 192 sin problemas, la encuentras al principio de este hilo. Es muy estable.

Hello to everybody!

I notice an issue with VPX 10.7 192 and the table "Dolly Parton 1979" by bossman72 & JPSalas (https://www.vpforums...&showfile=15744). The thing is that no matter how much streng you put to the plunger, the ball always goes with the same streng and velocity. It was ok in 10.6, so i understand that this is an issue with the software and not with the table. bossman72 and jpsalas, can you take a look?

Thank you and have a great weekend!

I've had a go at using 10.7 as an editor and an immediate problem I've found was that the quick access filenames in the file dropdown are truncated more than they were in 10.6, and as I use version numbers as I version bump WIP tables I can no longer see them because they're over the limit.

If they need to be truncated could they at least show the end and clip the beginning, or for preference just revert to like 10.6 and show all the filename?

Update LTD4a.vbs for the VPM update pertaining to the tilt switch?

Already done yesterday  ;)  https://github.com/v...608ab2541195f87

And there is now also a matching official 3.4beta: https://www.vpforums...=68#entry479656

I tried my best to do this, but somehow the new UI refuses to comply..  :/

More observations;

 - In order to use ctrl-s to save you have to click off whatever you're doing and click on the main editor window

 - When you select a collection of the same thing, for example primitives, it seems to choose one of the things in the collection and display those properties, instead of showing a blank when they have different ones.

 - If you're running 2 tables in the editor and click between them the system locks up whilst it's... loading between them? (running a 5600x 6-core with 32gb), maybe it's cataloguing the layers each time?

 - When you "save as" (to version bump a tables filename), it defaults to your... last directory used? instead of where the table is currently saved, and it has the filename blank instead of prefilled with the current filename

 - If you use a script like;

Pincab_Shooter.Y = -20.45162 + (5* Plunger.Position) -20

to track a plunger with a plunger shooter primitive, if an analogue device is connected then it doesn't work and you have to use a workaround with enabling and disabling timers, where it should just work. Something's obviously causing a position reset.

I've seen this with other software as well, so I doubt it's a "bug" in the traditional sense. I don't know if it's just become a "best use" to not have a name applied when you Save As (in order to avoid overwriting by mistake), or Windows forcing it. I know I've seen it in at least two other software packages.

Nevertheless, the save-as dialog now defaults to using the same dir and name..  :)

Is it expected that the 10.7 beta might result in slower table load times? Or am I just imagining it's slower? ;)

My experience is the opposite. Loading seems slightly snappier
