Successfully got an mp3 file scripted in where it played. On the codeword 'EndMusic', does it end all audio currently playing at a given moment? And on the same note, does the audio file end if it completely plays through once, with the exception of scripting it to loop?

EndMusic stops all (only) mp3 files playing

mp3's will play all of the way through if you don't stop them with EndMusic or loop them.

There is a Sub _MusicDone()(Script) when mp3 file is finished, procedures are carried out. (I took this from the VP manual located at the top of every page under Design Resources/Visual Pinball Guides/VP9.1.1+ Guide -English)

Trial and error works well too. smile.gif

I know about the trial and error part hehe. A lot of what I learned about scripting tables came from other author's tables and some from asking questions. Thanks to this site and the VP veterans here, I feel blessed from the knowledge I gained to create tables of my own and to make them as fun as I possibly can. biggrin.gif

With my new CPU installed, I can do fullscreen again and since I am back on fullscreen, I went ahead and did the adjustments for the textboxes to where they are seated correctly. Also did away with the scoop decals and replaced them with a decal for the 'hole' look and a ramp with a chrome image for the top part of the scoops.

Looked through the tutorials and did searching and also tried looking at Bob5453's Beatles table first but couldn't find anything relevant to the following question:

How do I loop audio? Both wav and mp3 audio. I am using both on my table.

I apologize for asking this question, I know this has been answered in threads but couldn't find them in search ( I probably didn't enter in the right keywords).

For a wave....

PlaySound "Beatles_IINS", -1

For an mp3.... You play it, then when it is over, you do something, in the case below, you play the mp3 again.

PlayMusic "supergirl-movie.mp3"

Sub Table1_MusicDone()
PlayMusic "supergirl-movie.mp3"
End Sub

Ahh ok, I forgot the comma on the wav file loop. The mp3 file looping I kind of suspected something like what you mentioned.

Cool, I'll get to work on the table then. biggrin.gif

Just remember for the mp3, the table needs to be the same table name that is in the editor. I always leave them the default Table1

also for wav files you can have the command:

Silence
stopsound "your first sound here"
stopsound "your second sound here"
stopsound" and so on and so on"
End Sub

this way you can have numerous songs and such and all of them will stop if you use that command

That's not a command and it won't work the way you have it there. It needs to be a subroutine..... Hence the End Sub you use, but you forgot the Sub. smile.gif

Sub Silence
stopsound "your first sound here"
stopsound "your second sound here"
stopsound" and so on and so on"
End Sub

Now the challenge will be how to code different music scores depending on what mode is in effect in the gameplay. biggrin.gif

Solved the problem of getting the table to play different music depending on the event but ended up with the error 'expected if' And the End Sub at the end of the block of code is highlighted in red.

Sub Tron_MusicDone()

If MCPBattleActivated = True Then
PlayMusic "Tron Tower Music - Let Us Pray.mp3"

Else If MCPJackpotActivated = True Then
PlayMusic "Tron The Light Sailer.mp3"

Else If MultiBallActivated = True Then
PlayMusic "Tron Break In.mp3"

Else If MultiBallReadyActivated = True Then
PlayMusic "Ring Game and Escape.mp3"

Else PlayMusic "Tron Water, Music, And Tronaction.mp3"

End If

End Sub

I thought I got everything right on this and at the moment am trying to figure out what I did wrong.

Try removing the space between Else if and make ElseIf

Current update:

Fixed the Simulator playfield so that the shot is more consistent (although not much easier hehe), and added a couple of lights to simulate the Simulator's light beam it travels on.

Also been working and reworking the scripting of the audio I have in the table so far. Had to fix some of it due to discrepancies in the gameplay. For example: on multiball, I shot two balls up the left ramp into the MCP playfield and had two Giant Sarks playing goalie. biggrin.gif

I'm a massive Tron fan and have multiple copies of just about every release of the movie as well as a lot of other items.

What sound effects do you want? I can probably help you out with them.

Update: Added several general Tron sound effects for different playfield objects. Afterwards all that is left is the gameplay coding and the table will be ready for release
