Terry,

You siad the center number needs to be 1 but on the sounds that you added they are set to 100.  Is there a reason?

George

Those were actually older trigger files I made...but for the middle "Z", it can be 1 to 100. It has the same affect either way. It won't matter as long as it's not less than 1. Good catch though.

Terry, amazing work! As someone who is just now starting to research and develop a plan to create my own cab I am looking for some starting blocks. I have seen many a builder say if I had it to do over again I would have done it differently. Any tips or trick to starting out would be most appreciated. Thanks for the awesome feed!

If you are going with a full size build...start out with cabinet hardware before building....such as lockdown bar and locking mech, pinball legs, rail guides,etc...

I'm in 100% agreement with Terry on buying the hardware first, if you are going the stainless steel lockdown bar, receiver and side rails route. These parts are not made to thousandths tolerances and can vary 1/8" or so. Adjust your cab dimensions around those pieces. Many people, my self included, went with Williams wide body dimensions.

Yep I built mine modeled after the dimensions of my standard Williams machine I own and it fit a 42" Samsung really well.  I bought a hardware package and the lockdown bar did not fit to my taste.  The width was fine but when you engaged it the slots did not line up correctly so I forget it either made it too far forward or backward.  Don't be afraid to think outside the box and DIY some stuff.  I figured out how to break apart the inside of the lockdown bar from the engagement part.  Cleaned it all the extra glue and then I was able to use 2 part epoxy, insert the latching section and lock it then lay the top part of the lockdown bar in place where I wanted it and let the epoxy dry.  It fits perfect now.

I will defiantly heed that advice when building the cab.  I am currently testing the software.  I have to prove to my spouse that this will work and not flop.  With so many programs to work with each other and new version coming out so often I find it hard to find current build information.  I have all the basics installed but yet i am still getting scripting errors on many tables.  I am using a three monitor setup and eventually would like all the bells and whistles including the awesome front end and popper videos.  Any assistance as to where to start the install process from scratch would be beneficial as well.  Sorry for the newbie questions you guys are an inspiration to so many who love this genre of gaming.  Thank you very much!!

...So I came up with this mock-up to tide me over and help me figure exactly what I wanted.

Terry,

I have thought about making a sort of pincab where the monitors just sit on an open frame and use some sort of controller with it.  I'm curious how you set this up.

Any ideas on how I could mount a horizontal TV and a backboard monitor on an open frame?

George

This was just using that plastic stack shelving kits you can get. Nothing more. :)

Aliens FX3 PuP-Pack! DOFLinx, SSF, and optional Movie Soundtrack!

I've updated my Aliens FX3 PuP-Pack to have more videos, use newer PuP features, and it has optional SSF (Surround Sound Feedback) and Movie Music!

Video preview:

This FX3 table can run on a cabinet and have excellent hardware, lighting, and surround sound feedback, and an active video backglass using the combination of the following programs:

- DDH69's DOFLinx will trigger all cabinet feedback related functions. This includes solenoids, shaker motor, blower fan, RGB flashers, RGB undercab, strobes, beacons, MX leds, etc . It also will trigger the Pinup Player SSF (surround sound feedback) actions.

- Freezy's dmdext (DMD Extensions) will render the FX3 DMD to real DMDs or a new virtual DMD window with nice clean "dots". It will also output the DMD images to Pinup Player for PuPCapture.

- NailBuster's Pinup Player will create an active video Backglass and Topper. It monitors the dmdext DMD output and will play videos on your Backglass or Topper screen when it sees specific DMD images. It also plays movie music tracks in the same manner. For PuP SSF (surround sound feedback), it relies on DOFLinx to tell Pinup Player when to play the SSF sounds.

-TerryRed is the poor sap who created this Aliens FX3 PuP-Pack.

Terry, this is so Cool!  I didn't know you could access the triggers on FX3 to make it work.

I think you could add the same videos to Slam's Aliens Legacy table.

I don't see a way to download your PuP-Pack although I wouldn't be able to use it anyway. PinSimDB has a section for adding things for FX2, TheNalex would probably be interesting in adding FX3.

You can use DOFLinx triggers if you want for PuP (which is how I'm doing SSF), but for the videos, they are being triggered by the DMD images.

For all things PinUP related go here:

Also, my new Tron Legacy (Stern, Ultimate) PuP-Pack will be out later tonight along with the updated table for it.

Wow Terry,

I've been following this for ages, and your YouTube channel, and I'm embarking on my own cabinet build.

Do you have dimensions for your back-glass/DMD setup?

I really love the look you have, and the layout, and would really like to recreate it as closely as possible. I picked up a bunch of Aura Interactors for $10 and am thinking I'll use them in the cab.

Have you tried the Kinect V2 headtracking yet? I have a couple of old PS-EYE cameras hanging around from an old touch screen project, but am interested how the Kinect setup compares.

Thanks so much for everything you share, so much info is outdated, or limited to cabinet recreations rather than striking out for a different look that takes advantage of newer tech. Your stuff just blows me away, so I'm starting on the journey...

I think Future Pinball is the only program that frequently has something to display on what looks like the screen above the DMD.  On other tables, I believe he has to get creative to find something to display there.  ...But he has modified this table several times and he retains this third "screen" so I suppose he thinks it is worth the effort.

Now all you need to do is replace the sides of the cab with screens, and have it be 100% configurable.

I love this build. I plan to do much of the same but with my own twist on the cabinet.

I present... the world premiere of BEZ BALL!

For my 20th Anniversary, I decided to do make a funny pinball game for my wife... about her! This game has many modes, and a main overall objective. To defeat THE BEZ! (my wife :) ). She actually plays and completes the entire game!

Definitely worth watching through the entire video guys. You've never seen a table quite like this before. It has a funny and cute build up to the final battle! You'll be amused...

Featuring:

- funny and cute Pinup Player videos from our 20 years together
- amazing voice acting from...myself! I did the voices of The BEZ, my kids, my dogs, and my mother-in law!
- full DOF feedback, lighting, and MX leds
- many modes including: Bez Ball, Ba Ba Ball, Zack Attack, Emily's Magic Trick, and Bez Battle!
- completely new table built from scratch (table, coding, sounds, music, videos, graphics) in less than 2 weeks. My first complete pinball table creation.

Here it is...the first video preview of my new Transformers PuP-Pack!

So far it has 229 different videos on 6 different PuP Screens with an Overlay image. It uses over 200 PuPCapture images monitoring the DMD to trigger the videos using newer features of Pinup Player 1.3.6.

This was a mountain of work that took a good 3 weeks to (almost) finish. (still more to do) The bottom "Text" area is sized perfectly for a DMD for those who need to have their DMD on the backglass screen...so this should work for everyone.

I used the Ball Controller to show as many videos as quickly as I could...and it still was over 35 mins!

There is something new through almost the entire video as the videos will be different if you choose Autobots or Decepticons. The backglass animations on the different PuP screens will also change depending on what you choose.

I asked Tarcisio Caleiro if he could make his excellent Bumblebee Topper video (modded from an excellent T2 video) work as a Decepticon as well. So he did, and I was going to add them as optional Toppers....but I thought, why not try something even cooler! Choose your EYES!
