some notes regarding the last played table option:
this launch option is just meant as a shortcut. It won't changed the images of the currently selected table.
Reason for that is that if you use a filter and the last played table doesn't belong to the filtered tables
it would just confuse the user.

It should work if your primary monitor (playfield) is the one which holds the 'main' desktop including the taskbar all other monitors should be only an extension to the desktop. E.g. if you have a three monitor setup screen1 is you main desktop with taskbar (playfield), screen2 (backglass) extends screen1 and finaly screen3 (DMD) extends screen2.So if you start PinSelect from screen1 it should work, well at least it works on my cab and on my desktop in that way
I didn't get to mess with it very much last night, but I did manage to get it to work right! I'm not sure what the fix was exactly, but I moved the taskbar and open windows back to the playfield (no. 1) display, changed my settings back to the words "Primary" and "Secondary," rebooted, launched PinSelect, and everything was in its proper place. I wish this wasn't necessary, however, as it's much easier to work on the secondary monitor, since it isn't rotated.
I haven't had the chance to try 1.8 yet.

Can some one else try and use the last played table link with a non backglass servered VP table while the wheel is on a different table.
fuzzel apparently if a VP table doesn't have a B2S backglass it relies on FPLaunch to provide the the backglass. If a table is launched directly and it hasn't first been made into focus then FPL will use the current background that is shown.
For example:
My last played table was Flintstones, I am not using a B2S or UVP backglass with it.
The wheel was on Haunted House.
I went to the menu and selected Flintstones and pressed the launch button. It launched the Flintstones table with the Haunted House backglass.
I think the menu link should take the wheel to the last played table to overcome this. It can auto launch or we can launch it ourselves after that.

New version is out. It fixes the last-played-table selection problem jasonsmith mentioned.
With this version PinSelect goes open source ![]()
You can find the sources under:

fuzzel thank you so much for all your hard work on this and thank you for sharing your project with us in the first place. Your willingness to let us help and use our suggestions was greatly appreciated. Thank you for releasing the source for this as I'm sure that will be a huge benefit to this community.

- view is landscape only
Is there any reasoning to why this is?

Yes
I developed PS because I wasn't satisfied with HP under Win7 64Bit on my cab.
PS wasn't meant as a general frontend for VP/FP on desktop computers.

Not sure what it is with the quote thing going on here...
Great work either way and as you've opened the source that is not a concern either, just wondered why and if it would be that difficult to change it to suit.

I can not get Pinselect to show all of my tables. Many tables work perfect with hyperpin but don't show up on pinselect. They have proper table, backglass, and wheel images. They all have the correct names. I don't get it. I have read here and can't find a solution. Any ideas?
Thanks

Thanks for trying to help fuzzel. Unfortunately it's still not showing all of my tables. The task bar is on my playfield monitor which is the primary screen. The debug mode shows 2 errors for only 2 tables with bad wheel images. But it isn't showing over 100 missing tables, nor is it showing errors for these tables.
An example is FP medieval madness which shows up perfectly in hyperpin and is absent in pinselect. If I delete the contents of the FP and VP xml's and ONLY leave medieval madness listed THEN it will show up in pinselect (and as expected, it's the ONLY table). But if I use my normal full xml's then MM is missing even though the information is exactly the same for this table.
Any more ideas man?
Ps. Thank you for giving us this program. It is faster than hyperpin alone. Awesome!
.....Now if I can just figure out how to stop an annoying sound loop that plays after closing any VP table with B2S.... Grrrrrr

Ringorian, I'm assuming you mean direct draw? I can't find any reference to d draw or direct draw in the registry editor.
Please explain further if you can
Thanks
Never mind ringorian. Found it. Thank you very much

The sound loop could be a focus 'issue' with FPLaunch. In settings.ini change hyperpinexe=hyperpin.exe to hyperpinexe=pinselect.exe (or rename PinSelect.exe into Hyperpin.exe
).

Thanks for making it open source, it benefits all the community! If only everybody could be that "open" minded..!
And looks like it's in C# (what a joy!
)
Maybe someday we will be able to do the right thing and build one big solution combining everything from frontend, to emulation and backglass servers.. that would make things so less fragmented & complicated for nothing. 1 big install file, 1 exe to run..
