well the translucent ramps only show up when I run the pin thru vp9. If I run it by just clicking on it, then I also get that checkered pattern. weird but I'm hoping once someone else has it they can just click on it and their computer will handle it ok and it's not a coding glitch I have embedded somewhere within vp9.

Sounds like when you "click on it" the table is loading into VP8 and not VP9. Your computer is set up to to associate .vpt files with the executable for VP8.

Sorry Todd. I've edited the post.

No worries! I wasn't offended.

Best Regards,
Todd.

I actually went to the trouble of finding the .VPT association to vpinball.exe for vp8 and deleted it in Windows to prevent me from accidentally opening VP8 instead of VP9.

Another cautionary step I took was to rename the VP9 executable to VP902.exe and I open VP9 from a separate shortcut on my desktop so I know exactly which version I'm using.

Todd.

I'm still working things out on the next ramp. I've been a little busy lately, so sorry for the delay. Hopefully I'll have time this weekend to iron it out.

Would it speed things up if I upload my table so that you can compare, and improve the ramp positions and heights for the group? (Where is a good place to upload a file that is over 4Mb in size when compressed with 7zip/RAR etc...)

PCI and AGP cards are still available, too, if you look hard enough.

Todd,
Thanks for the offer. If you want, you can upload it to www.savefile.com

The problem I have and haven't had a chance to look into is that the ball is falling off the 2-wire ramps. I don't remember if I increased the glass height to see if that corrected the problem or not (I haven't really had a chance to look into things and re-do them). The other problem I'm having is I want to attempt to go through the steps to make the wire ramps look like those that JP does and I need to figure out the best way to explain it and put it together. At the present the various heights of all the ramps are all OK and working.

I increased the attachment limit for Workshop members to 8MB, so you can just attach it here, if you want.

I understand, I am very excited and interested to give back to the VP community that I have enjoyed so many tables from. biggrin.gif Here is my table, maybe it will help.

Todd.

Todd,
Thanks for posting your table. I did a little playing around a bit ago and figured out my problem. All I had to do was to switch the direction for the ramp (basically spin it around 180 degrees). I will possibly have some time tomorrow afternoon/evening to work on the table some more.

A public notice if your pictures no longer appear in your old posts:

I read in another post that Noah's friend lost the domain for the image hosting so I went looking for my posts with images in them and edited them with the new domain:

You're welcome to do that, but once I get home, all the .net references will be edited to .org on a bulk scale in the post data. It'll be just a matter of time.

I've already changed the link at the top of the forum.

so what's next? we are all back here as far as I know, I see other posts but our table tutorial has stopped. What is the next step after adjusting all those dam ramp heights.

Perhaps some real life issues are affecting wtiger. Give him some more time and I'm sure he'll be back! biggrin.gif

I've was away for a few days (celebrating my 10th anniversary with my wife), got busy with some other things (been pretty busy at work the last few weeks and have been pretty tired when I get home), and the site was down. I'm not sure yet what my wife and I have planned for this weekend, but if I get the time I plan on posting about the rigth ramp with the yellow caution and going from clear plastic to the wire doing it the way JP makes his wire ramps.

Wow!! go out and have some fun time with your wife. Heck if it wasn't for the patience of our other halves we'd never get any of these pins built. So go and enjoy your tenth, you deserve it. And when you come back THEN we'll bombard you again with all our questions biggrin.gif

Thanks everyone! I'm going to try to post the next ramp stuff before Friday, but I'm pretty exhausted when I get home from work (I've been pretty busy and now a co-worker is on travel so I'm covering his stuff too). I have this Friday off, so worst case I should have time Friday for it. Bear with me. Sorry for the LONG delay.
