From what I've seen not only are the graphics and lighting sub-par but the physics are also bad, I don't know what planet most of you are from but you need to take a trip to Earth once in a while and see how a pinball simulation SHOULD look and play.....Future Pinball is still the best pinball game out there. And who cares about playing on your iPhone...or whetever....jeez, can't you go without playing pinball for 5 mins!!? You have to carry it around with you!!?

I can only read this and laugh.
Apparently you've never played a real pinball table.

Fp is not so close on physics
vp is a little closer
maybe unity3d will be even closer we'll see

but honestly id take pro pinball physics over vp or fp anyway

imho the Williams collection had better physics than fp so i assume they have gotten better with this upcoming release

Is anyone running this beta on iOS, maybe an Ipad 1?

What game are you running and how does it perform compared to rom emulation and VP in general?

I wasn't one of the chosen ones :0(

Yes, I'm running the iOS beta on an iPad 2 and it's very nice. Farsight is using the original ROMs, so I'd say it performs just as nice as VP, except with more bells and whistles (camera options, leaderboards, very detailed table instructions, etc.)

There are four machines so far:

Tales of The Arabian Nights
Theatre of Magic
Ripley's Believe it Or Not
Black Hole

what about rom setting menu's? do the leaderboards use the ROM set to tournament mode?

For as far as I have tested (on Android) there are no ROM setting menu's. Since I haven't used the leaderboards yet, because I'm one of the few testing in offline mode, I don't know whether or not the ROM is used for this. This means that, related to ROMs, there isn't much difference compared to the earlier games. The physics, however, have greatly improved.

I read in one of the post, they say in the future their thinking about when you call for an attendent if a ball is stuck he will come and fix the ball and put it back on the playfield. The other thing they say is if the ball is not stuck and you call the attendent he looks at you with a mean look says something and then walks away. I really hope this happens because then it would feel like you are really in an arcade, they say they have many suprises coming in the future as long as they work the way they want them too. This thing is going to be awsome, i hope it lasts for many years to come and hopefully their will be many hundreds of table down the road, especially Pinball Circus and all the S.A.M. games that would be awsome. Well talk to you all later, David Pannozzo.

How did I just now hear about this? I AM SO GOD DAMN HAPPY.

My friend and I put untold hours into Williams HoF. I prefer it to VP, actually! I seriously cannot wait.

You are dead on UW, the ps3 version of williams HOF had far better physics than FP. Don't get me wrong, I loves me some FP tables, but to say FP's physics are better than (probably any version of HOF) couldn't be further from the truth. I guess he's just being a contrarian and probably hasnt even played HOF. The only worse thing is if he DID actually play it, and still come up with that opinion. Yikes

I'm sorry but HOF is just a very poor pinball game (not even good enough to be called a simulation). I have played it and it's not in the same league as Future Pinball. It's looks and physics are comparable with VP which is why it's getting so much praise here methinks.

You people are living in the Dark Ages. The party of the Century is happening right under your noses and you're all sitting around drinking tea. Time to wake up and play some serious pinball.....Future Pinball.

Future pinball sucks, one reason is it's not compatible with roms and also the ball feels so fake it drives me crazy. You also have to have a pretty powerful computer and it's not worth getting a powerful computer with Farsights The Pinball Arcade coming, these guys really know their stuff, they also take the pinball machines apart and scan all the pieces to make it look as real as they possibly can for video pinball. Your jealous for some reason and i can't figure it out. Dave P.

Has the PC version release date been mentioned yet? Didn't see anything on Facebook, but it's getting mega busy which is a good thing. Just shows the big demand for this type of stuff.

I bet Farsight must be shitting themselves about Future Pinball's existence, once people realise they can download that for free no-one will want to buy their game... rolleyes.gif

From what I read, Late march seems to be their target for the PC version. I might be wrong so don't quote me on that. wink.gif

Looking forward to Thursday to try it out on my iPhone and iPad. It's gonna be really hard for me to stop playing FP tongue3.gif

Shit means good, right? I remember the first time I ever played Future Pinball, the greatest pinball simulator of all-time, I nearly shat myself. I know if I was on a desert island and had to choose between Future Pinball and Selma Hayek, I'd be banging FP. Go Pinball! Go JonBaker!

Wow, that was easier than I thought. Yay!

And yeah, I think they've gone on the record with "Marchish" for the PS3/XBL version. Hopefully the PC version hits around the same time. I'm ALSO hoping the PC version has higher res playfields, 'cause the screenshots I've seen so far look really pixelated.

EDIT: Hoo-boy, this is from the game's entry in the New Zealand iTunes store: "Each month, regular updates will add classics like Monster Bash, Medieval Madness, Creature From the Black Lagoon, Funhouse, Attack From Mars, Space Shuttle, Pin Bot, Circus Voltaire, Big Shot, and many others for years to come."

Looks like when they just straight up got the license for Universal Monsters if Creature is coming too.
