Ok as soon as Im finish documenting what I have to document...
I want to tackle a new challenge, an adaptation of Revenge from Mars.. tongue.gif

This will be a 'lite version' of it though
everyone will have the fun feeling of playing it, even if not totaly accurate
the goal here is to adapt it the best I can.

so I would need help in preping the project:
anything you have from video to decal, music, SFX, tips and rulesheet,
please contact me and Ill send you my FTP sever account to upload it

Steve

If anyone can pull this off, it's you Steve! I wish I could help you on this, but I have no resources. I will be looking forward to this!

This is quite shocking to me. I was looking at the very same table last night on IPDB wondering to myself if a version could be produced in FP. It surprised me just now to sign in and see this exact topic. I guess great minds do think alike after all. tongue.gif I will look around and see what resources I have or can find.

What he said! I hope this pans out. I don't have anything to share myself, though I recall there being at least one video on YouTube showing JUST the video screen, which might be pretty helpful.

I uploaded all the sounds and music the game has in it to your ftp Steve. Now if only we could find a way to extract every frame of video it has, then TAB and I would be able to finish our version for VP. Just we don't consider half a game to be good enough for these two gems of history, so we'll keep waiting. Good luck on your rendition.

from video shot I could redo the animations and bridge the gaps, so the more data we have the more accurate it will be.

Say what??

OMG this really IS good news. I guess you would be one of a select few able to pull this off, even not completely accurate. I wish you all the luck for this one!

Thanks!

I know with Steve putting this together, it will be an awesome project! Anyone who has played Dark Quest knows what he can do with holograms. I have been looking at these tables on Ebay, and would just love to own one, but I just simply can't afford it.

Just to be sure, I'm still going to ask permission to the original conceptor of RFM if they would approve recreation from a fan.
it is a lot of work and nobody would like it to be shut down near completion. If the permission is not given, I might just do my own artwork and SFX but the table would still be a minigame/alien invasion.

I can work in parallele with someone from VP that want to do it also, any taker? ...wondering though, if there is a limitation in VP when it come to the amount of images that it can hold. As for FP, 1500 is pretty much the max. So I unfortunaltly will have to select some minigames but will also have to let go some other..

But I'm sure that most of the people will agree...a reduced version of RFM is better than none.

- Tab, I'm on the hunt for Video, can you film? most of the youtube are hard to know what is what.
- If someone have the machine and send me a top view of the playfield that would be nice.

so to recap: my plan is to create 4 large size images (playfield, plastic, backglass and cabinet) and a sequence of 1500 images for a scrolling menu, intro of the minigames,
and the minigames themselves.

Pics are on your ftp. As for VP and limits, with VPDisco and/or VPPlus that limitation only applies to Future Pinball. You'd want to use a plugin anyway to get the overlay transparency pinball 2000 requires, but the limitation is only how big your hard disk is for VP.
