Thanks for the kind words, I had the cab planned out as it was the first thing i built however the backbox im more or less making it up as i go around the two displays im using.

Here is a google sketchup i did of the main cab sized up from the widebody lockdown bar and the 42" Aquos LCD.

Please note i used 16mm MDF

it is cominig right along!

I just ordered my hardware for my cab yesterday...too funny
I looked for an empty cab, but no one in a 3 state area had a widebody they would sell me.
Of course they were not gutted.
I see you have taken the plastic bezel off the 42"...I may do that as well
I plan to cut cab out next weekend
cab parts.

Mine are 34" from the ground to the center of the button on both my real machine and my pincab.

Great job Kurt. These sorts of threads are always my favourites by far.
You did well by submitting the dimensions. I think many could use them.
I think you should also submit this to Instructables, as I'm sure they would feature it.
This would be good for VP promotions.
What part of Oz are you in. I'm in eastern suburb of Melb. I'd love to see you work if you're local.

been following this on BYOAC, I think Im gonna take your dimensions for my build, I happen to have a 42" screen as well. Do you have a list of part numbers form where you ordered the pinball parts? and maybe a rough estimate on how much it cost? lol
I get off on negativity. I smile at your strife.

Thanks for the comments guys biggrin.gif

I'm not to sure on the hight of the flippers from the ground i have been building it around personal specs as im 6'5 i wanted it to be playable without being hunched over.
This is the first thing i have ever made so im kinda winging it more or less as i go.

Im based in Mandurah, Western Australia.

I hope to have it ready for filling and sanding in the next week or two but the backbox is proven to be a little challenging for my lack of wood working skills.

I'll be sure to keep to pictures up to date.

I got most of my parts from www.pinballlife.com

I really havent thought about how much i have spent so far i might go into shock, it hasnt been cheap as i purchased all 42"/32"/19" displays for the build approx $2,500 and if i had to guess another $400 or so on pinball parts so far then the materials another $200

Still have the PC to buy and paint/side art.

Someone now remind me why i started this ohmy.gif

Hey Kurt, did you do a sketchup of the back box?
If this is the first thing you've ever made then you're doing a fantastic job.

No i havent sorry, havent had the time though i do hope to finish a sketch for others. I sized it up from a real cabs dimensions then increased the width slightly to fit the 32" LCD backglass display.

Thanks for the comments, this is the first thing ive tried to build it's been trial and error but she's getting there.

Im not going anywhere near nanotech plunger. i'll use real tilt bobs or U-HID G havent decided yet.

The backglass is strong as with only screws in it at the moment, once i add glue and screws it should be right. Size is more or less off a real widebody cab just alittle wider to house the 32" LCD.

The base is acually smaller in deapth then the top, Once bolted to the cab i doubt ill see much movement from it.

Tilt bobs are from real cabs any spare parts website should list them and U-HID info can be found at U-HID G

Both should work in theory, time will tell if it will be easy.. All will run through an i-pac same interface thats used in Mame cabs .

Hope this helps.

Kurt, you could also try out a LED-Wiz for your buttons, the same as a i-PAC but has added support for lighing the buttons (LED), http://groovygamegea...products_id=306
