8800GTS=tested on VP=Great! Works for FP but I do not recommend any less for FP Play almost as well as GTS250 for FP
9500GT=tested on VP=Great! Runs FP too fairly well=playable
GTS250=tested on VP=Gtreat! Runs FP better ( I went back to a FS 2 mon setup for FP )

NVidia 182.50 drivers
as suggested here on the forum.

Asus P5E but I use it primarily for racing
Asus P5QL=55.00 after testing both I just use this
P5E overkill/over budget for PB setups

CPU's tested
3.2 DC p4 on P5e

SC tested onboard SW sound processing=great
SC tested Audigy2 w OB HW processor=better but NOT absolutly needed for VP or FP

sata2 80-120 seagate HDD set at 3gb transfer rate.

42" Visio 1920x1080i=playfield ( I tried a 31" =1280x720 ) it will work but way better to have greater resolution. ( FS dual mon setup )
any 19" 1280x1024 for back ( tried the 31" 1280x720 ) that makes one large back drop! see vids
Monitor note: speeds are less than 8ms ( anything any higher...to slow for gaming IMO )

Pinball wizard Controller= Great! all works.....tilt nudging ect...see vids

last but not least...one hell of a forum and very supportive members!

Now I have to ask...is anyone here running a SS HDD yet?? there out!...

everything runs smooth except monster bash hi resolution table which says it runs out of z buffer memory.

I also have installed ultra vp recently and notice some slowdowns even though it's only on one monitor. If memory serves me correctly it happened on multi ball on the flintstones night mod edition.

Far out my PC is long in the tooth, most components are circa 2005. Mouse and Keyboard are well over 10 years old.

Im running an Athlon 64 3000+ (thats single core for all you youngsters).
XP Media Centre Edition SP3
1GB RAM (DDR 400 if I remember correctly).
Nvidia 7600GT 256mb
Couple of seagate drives, combined about 570gb I think plus some removables with about the same again (so a bit over 1TB total).
19 inch CRT monitor (when will this beast die so I can get a new one?)
4.1 Altec Lansing speakers circa 2000 and still kicking nicely.

I think this is the longest Ive had a PC without updating the box, probably because I have a 360 and prefer to game on that mostly. I really only play casual games and pinball on the PC plus use it for work/internet.

Im meant to be the techy geek amongst my mates but most of them have newer PC's than me, go figure. Im also tight as a duck's arse.

You should be good to go man. I have a few minor stuttering issues with some tables if I run UVP, so I just leave those with a static backglass, and 99% of the tables run fine. I get a hair of stutter on Monster Bash multiball with the High res textures, and I had a problem with Cirqus Voltaire at first, but I have that problem solved and it runs smooth now (not sure what I did.. I think I turned off ball anti-alias).

Since I posted my specs, I went from Vista to XP, with minor improvement (mostly in FP)
