Hi friends :)
is it at all possible that one of the development team could include at a later date in the preferences games/keys controls add a key so that the Xbox 1 controller triggers Z Axis can be used for the flippers function instead of the buttons 5 and 6
thank you

Would this remapping solution suffice for now?

No, I'm afraid iv'e just come out of a Microsoft agent taking control of my computer and with regret the triggers won't work on those settings for vp/ future tables. By default, the Xbox controller uses both buttons 5 and 6 and triggers for the Zen tables on steam and epic tables.

Unless of course you have a configuration in mind that I could try

Have just done some testing with Joy2key

Have successfully managed to get left and right flipper to be controlled by left and right xbox one controller triggers, in VPX (havent tried with FP).

In joy2key:

Edit button 11 assignment to left Shift (will simply show as "Shift"), this is the left trigger.
Edit button 12 assignment to right Shift (will show as "R-Shift"), this is the right trigger.

You may want to setup a profile to be used exclusively with VPX.

I also tried my initial suggestion and, as you discovered, the Xbox Accessories app does not support remapping of the triggers unfortunately, but joy2key does.

Joy2key is shareware so may timeout eventually if you don't pay for it, not sure.

There are other similar alternatives that may also work https://rigorousthem...ey-alternative/

Less annoying than joy2key
and less latency

Sounds good and was on the list of alternates. I can't seem to find the x86 exe though, all the assets seem to be for either linux or AMD64 and the x86 version is an appimage which I have no idea what to do with?

Edit: seems I may need to use the AMD64 exe even though I'm intel?

So I tried Antimicro and it works well after some initial problems setting up.

Setup Antimicro:

Click "L Trigger" button in the app, change it to "Normal" if not already selected. Then click the [NO KEY] button to the right of "Normal".
Change it to Left Shift and close window backout to main menu

Repeat for "R Trigger" but select Right Shift instead.

Save it.

There may be other ways to set it up, I had a problem when I set the trigger to "Positive Throttle" mode first, as whilst it fired the flipper, it would stay up even after releasing button.

Note that you may need to run the Antimicro map as Administrator as per message at bottom of app window, I didnt need to.

Hmmm... when I said "Click L Trigger button" in the app, I should have said "select L Trigger button" , you shouldn't need to actually press any buttons on the Joystick when configuring other than having it turned on and connected to your PC (I assume it is an Xbox One controller and not a 360? I have only tested with Xbox one controller.

Also, have you tried the "run as administrator" option at the bottom of the app?

Lastly, do your left and right shift keys on your keyboard actually work to activate the flippers? If you have changed them to something else in VPX then this is likely the problem.

Do any of those tips help? If not then I may try and record a video for you when I get a chance.

i think i will have to wait for your video. This is my screenshot. i can confirm that the left/right shift keys are good and activate the flippers. And can confirm the controller is xbox1.

Good to hear it is working for you. I'm not too sure about latency other than that wiesshund mentioned that antimicro had less latency, not sure if that was by a test or just the feel of it though.

Does latency seem ok for you? No obvious latency issues with either app when I tested, but my brain is probably running at least 500ms behind the younger guys. I'm also running on a potato PC at the moment so its a bit hard to tell.
