File Name: Jurassic Park (Data East 1993)_Bigus(MOD)

File Submitter: bigus1

File Submitted: 05 Dec 2021

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME - MOD Tables

Author(s): Bigus1, Dark, bodydump, Flupper1, HauntFreaks, randr, rothbauerw, Lobotomy
Manufacturer: Data East
Year: 1993
Permission to MOD?: Unspecified

This excellent table from Dark and Friends is a blast.
What started as a typo fix on the playfield, ended up as a makeover.
Hands-down the most tedious table to work on, with 60 second turn-around on restarts.
2.0 is a Full rebuild at standard playfield height, giving it reflections at last!
plus a fresh makeover and problems fixed. For 10.8/3.6
Enjoy :)

Many Thanks.

I think that line 566 should be:  vuk.kick 90,60,1.5

Hi mate, will that fix something?  I use 10.6 and haven't changed that stuff or noticed any issues, although it might not be working properly. Cheers :)

The ball should be ejected upwards from this kicker.
This is an anomaly that already existed in the table you modified.

If it's just a visual thing, I'll add it in but I won't rush to update just yet. Thanks for the heads-up.

Table is great but i've played today for the first time and on second game ball was trapped so i was forced to do tilt and after tilt i wasn't able to shoot new ball into play, ball ejector was empty. Shame cause i got nice score. This happened in my second game on this table so i think this is a serious gamebreaking bug.

Nice and fun table, ball rolling sound on the plastic ramp in missing, same with Dark and Siggis mod.

Just change the last < to > in line 2163.

2163        Elseif BallVel(BOT(b) ) > 1 AND BOT(b).z > 130 Then

Hi Bigus1,
first of all thank you for this nice table mod.

Yesterday, I experienced an issue that maybe related to WhewnLit fix above.

I'm at office now and I can't check it, but I was a little dubious about that kicker behavior indeed.

Anyways, I was playing the multi-ball and that kicker ejected one ball in the launch lane. When all the balls dropped in the drain, I never had any ball on the playfield. I had to exit the game to get the table working back.
I suppose that since the table was not designed to get back the ball in the launch lane, that anomaly could lock the game.
Just an hypothesis of course.
I'll check this night

Have great day.

Massimo

Everywhere a ball rolls, there's fun!

I've only tested the table with 10.6 and not had any lost balls, but I'm getting reports of wayward balls with some 10.7 users. So far it seems to be related to the VUK, so can I ask  you guys to test WhenLit's change above and let me know if that cures the problem?  I've added the change with no ill effect in 10.6.

Also kentayeyen's sound fix is good. I'm still hard pressed to hear it over the explosion you get when you hit the ramp, so good pickup :)

Heya yeah, tried the fix but the issues persists, its in all versions of the JP tables. Siggis one the balls are ejected up onto the rails rather than into the launch chute but it still seems to get clogged up after CHAOS.

VPX7, replicated by myself and two others on their own setups.

I haven't had the problem myself, but try a rom from a different source as a starting point because I've had bad roms before, with various tables.

Hi, I've been enjoying this table but I'm having a wierd graphical problem: the apron and shooter lane seem to be showing the wrong layer (a plain wood with cutouts) and I cannot for the life of me get it to work. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong here? It shows properly in editor view but when actually playing it doesn't seem to render correctly.
