File Name: Big Brave (Maresa 1974)

File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 30 May 2020

File Category: VPX Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas
Manufacturer: Other - Pinball
Year: 1974
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

Based on the table by Maresa from 1974.

I have enhanced the graphics from my VP9 table, and I rebuilt the table in VPX. This means the graphics are 4k with crisp texts :)

Credits from the old VP9 table:

Thanks to akiles5000 and elo_rey for the pictures of the real table and elo_rey and FRMI for theirs VP tables, in which I based this one.
Also thanks to Popotte for allowing me to use his graphics from his FP table.

I don't remember who asked for this table in VPX, so this is for you :)

Thank you very much JP, akilles50000 and previous vp and fp authors. I'm sure it will be yet another great re-creation from you JP.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

EXTRAS

If you have a cabinet and you should like to play this table with 4 player instead of two, then you may download the file Big Injun_db2s_script.

You simply unpack this file with your tables, and make a copy of the Big Brave table and rename it "Bin Injun.VPX", run it and you have 4 players :)

These files (script, wheel and directb2s) were made by STAT.

UPDATE

3.0.0 Updated 23.04.2021
- Updated physics to version 3.0.1 for VPX 10.7

Someone asked for Big Indian from Gottlieb for VPX, and since those table's layout are the same, so I updated this one too to my latest physics.

Remember this is the Spanish table, not the Gottlieb one :) anyway to change the apron you will need to replace the images.

UPDATE

4.0.0 Updated 6.9.2022
- Updated to my VPX7 physics
- cleaned up and deleted unused graphics & reduced the size of the table
- Added my VPX7 LUT changer to darken the table (hold down LEFT CTRL while change with RIGHT CTRL). Including GI brightness adjustment. Use the LUT changer together with the day/night slider to give the table the level of darkness you prefer.
- Updated my mechanical set of sounds to a more "under the glass" sound, as people seem to like those kind of sounds better.
- Changed the Environment image to enhance a little the object shadows.
- Made the light inserts warmer.

Masterfully crafted, thank you. The shadow of the ball is flickering. Is it on my side only? How can i fix it?

UPDATE

6.0.1 Updated 16.02.2026
- Added DOF commands

This table is the same as Gottlieb's Big Indian, so I used the same DOF commands that Outhere added to that table.
Pedator is going to update the DOF config server.

Thanks JP !  :)

I noticed the current active player number does not light up on the backglass like the Gottlieb version.

I think it is triggered by this subroutine:

Sub LightPlayerUp

for xx=1 to 4

if B2SOn then

Controller.B2SSetData 90+xx,0

end if

next

Controller.B2SSetData 90+Player,1

end sub

Sub LightPlayerUp2

for xx=1 to 4

if B2SOn then

Controller.B2SSetData 90+xx,0

end if

next

Controller.B2SSetData 90+TempPlayerUp,1

end sub

It would be cool to see the current active player on backglass.

Just a suggestion.

If the B2S is built normally, since I do not have any Big Brave B2S, not at least here (I'm not home but in Torremolinos, Spain :) ) then it should already light up the Player light as I have that in the script.
