File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 14 Mar 2019

File Category: VPX Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas
Manufacturer: Other - Pinball
Year: 1980
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

Based on the Brunswick home  table from 1980.
Thanks to Redwings13 for suggesting this table and for all the images and info supplied.
This was a home pinball machine, and the ROM is not available, so the table does not uses a ROM. The rules are quite simple and they are described in the table info.

STAT uploaded a B2S file for this table.

Nais table !

When I set the bFreePlay = False it errors on Line 822 ""Variable is undefined :'aMatchLights'

Not sure how large the array must be for aMatchLights (know a bit of vbscripting, but non for vpinball .. still learning)

Edit :

Added the next line and the error is gone now

Dim aMatchLights()

I never tried the table with bFreePlay = False, since this was a home table without credits and without a match routine :)

Lol. Nevermind JP. I try to set all tables not to free.

But I really love to play it. Very nice. Good job  :otvclap: (but maybe the next time the script comment not in a language I don't understand :tongue3:  just kidding)

Hahaha, I made that basic script for akiles50000 for his Captain Fantastic table so he could learn a little more scripting, and he is Spanish :) (I'm also Spanish :) )

Thank you JP for making the table, Redwings13 for resources and eventually STAT for a promised db2s ! :)

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

For cabinet users to remove the text from the playfield:

JP: That reel/text belongs to the backdrop when playing in desktop mode and it should not be visible when playing in FS mode. It happens because I forgot to add a reel to the aReels collection.

To remove that: load the table in the editor, go to the backdrop, find a blue box (reel) named highscoreR, right click on it and choose Add/Remove Collection, and choose aReels. Save the table.

UPDATE

4.0.0 Updated 19.9.2022
- Updated to my VPX7 physics
- cleaned up and deleted unused graphics & reduced the size of the table
- Added my VPX7 LUT changer to darken the table (hold down LEFT CTRL while change with RIGHT CTRL). Including GI brightness adjustment. Use the LUT changer together with the day/night slider to give the table the level of darkness you prefer.
- Updated my mechanical set of sounds to a more "under the glass" sound, as people seem to like those kind of sounds better.
- Changed the Environment image to enhance a little the object shadows.
- Some small small script updates, like the Rolling sound and PlaySoundAt routines.
- Made the light inserts warmer.

I also fixed the desktop objects that were visible in FS mode.
And I added a Postit for the highscores :)

There is also a Circus music in the table in case you want to add a little background music. Just edit the script and set bMusicON = True, and adjust the volume to what you prefer.

The high score saving doesn't work -- the sticky and the saved/restored variables have different names.  Something like this would fix it:

Sub Loadhs
    x = LoadValue(TableName, "HighScore1")
    If(x <> "")Then HSScore(1) = CDbl(x) End If
    x = LoadValue(TableName, "HighScore2")
    If(x <> "")Then HSScore(2) = CDbl(x) End If
    x = LoadValue(TableName, "HighScore3")
    If(x <> "")Then HSScore(3) = CDbl(x) End If
    x = LoadValue(TableName, "HighScore4")
    If(x <> "")Then HSScore(4) = CDbl(x) End If
    x = LoadValue(TableName, "HighScore5")
    If(x <> "")Then HSScore(5) = CDbl(x) End If

    x = LoadValue(TableName, "HighScore1Name")
    If(x <> "")Then HSName(1) = x End If
    x = LoadValue(TableName, "HighScore2Name")
    If(x <> "")Then HSName(2) = x End If
    x = LoadValue(TableName, "HighScore3Name")
    If(x <> "")Then HSName(3) = x End If
    x = LoadValue(TableName, "HighScore4Name")
    If(x <> "")Then HSName(4) = x End If
    x = LoadValue(TableName, "HighScore5Name")
    If(x <> "")Then HSName(5) = x End If
    x = LoadValue(TableName, "Credits")
    If(x <> "")then Credits = CInt(x)Else Credits = 0 End If
End Sub
Sub Savehs
    SaveValue TableName, "HighScore1", HSScore(1)
    SaveValue TableName, "HighScore2", HSScore(2)
    SaveValue TableName, "HighScore3", HSScore(3)
    SaveValue TableName, "HighScore4", HSScore(4)
    SaveValue TableName, "HighScore5", HSScore(5)
    SaveValue TableName, "HighScore1Name", HSName(1)
    SaveValue TableName, "HighScore2Name", HSName(2)
    SaveValue TableName, "HighScore3Name", HSName(3)
    SaveValue TableName, "HighScore4Name", HSName(4)
    SaveValue TableName, "HighScore5Name", HSName(5)
    SaveValue TableName, "Credits", Credits
End Sub
