Greetings

Jan

I downloaded the ROM from a Mame site (planetemu.net), and bypassed the CRC error from the VPM setup.

Thanks Kalavera, I can not wait to try the table.

Thank you for the table, thank you for the hint. I had no CRC error. I tried also the roms on IPDB, but both there did not work.

I can not reproduce this error, could I upload a capture to see where it happens?

In VP it is really important to add just a tad of randomization to objects.
The reason is that it is based on math and the math will be the same, thus patterns repeat if there isn't any randomization added.
We're not talking about HUGE amounts - in the real world neither a kick or a bumper will output 100% exactly the same amount of force each time.
Very close, but not 100%.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

After I was unable to change the number of balls (->5) according to ta2686's guide, I took the other way: Disco Fever is a System 3 table as well, so I compared the data format of the nv rams - the same. My Disco Fever is set to 5 ball game operation. Now I renamed the nvram ... and Contact is playing 5 ball.

Does that happen to you all the time? This does not happen to me, the hit is more random, in fact reviewing videos try to emulate the exit angle of the ball and if it is fixed it is quite real.

sorry I have a new issue. I do not know if is the table or what elses (but other vpx tables does not show this effect). When I load the table via PinballX the plunger does not release. Hitting "Enter" pulls the plunger to full stroke regardless releasing the button or not. Retriggering starts the pull- sound again. The game works properly when I bypass pinballX. Does anyone has an idea????

The loop repeats all the time. If you drag the plunger to a specific point - the forth orange triangle (from the top) - and release, the ball will go into the top middle lock. Then the loop starts... Last time i left the loop repeat about 50 times before nudging the table.

I found another contradiction (if it is one?) the game is using the "S6.vbs", however the game of System 3 type. Can this be part of the reason with the sound and my new plunger- thing???

The rom works perfectly here Mustang. You just have to follow the PM I sent you to get a "working" rom. It's over at the site we're not supposed to talk about.

@GCS : It is weird that you report the kicker and the bumper shooting in a loop. The stuff I mention above isn't addressed to this table specifically, its just simply advisable to apply to any game. I have however not seen what you are reporting so I find that rather odd.

Hi Pin- Pete, have you unzipped the file and put in the nvram- folder?

Yes, thank you for your PM, I have the full sound and the game is playing ok - but not via PinballX. There the plunger does not be released.

Hmm. That sounds a bit weird Mustang. Try moving ' If vpmKeyUp(KeyCode) Then Exit Sub' one line down so it comes after the plunger key in the Sub table1_KeyUp(ByVal Keycode). Just guessing now.

I am 100% with you ... sounds crazy. BUT you hint hit the nail on its head. Please tell me, why does the line missmatch does not effect the game when it is played directly from the emulator? .... questions over questions.

But a big THANK YOU to you and my recommendation to kalavera to correct this bug in order to avoid other pinball enthusiasts running into this loop.

That's the thing. I can't explain why there is a difference. I just know that I would not start a sub with a exit check :)
