File Name: Vegas (Taito do Brasil - 1980)

File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 04 May 2018

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas
Manufacturer: Taito
Year: 1980
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

Based on the Taito table from 1980.
Thanks to:
- Carlos Guizzo for the source images.
- Tio Italo for the images of his FP table
- Akiles5000 for the redrawing of the playfield and backdrops
- and to allknowing2012 for letting me use the images from his Mata Hari table.

This is the complete table including the magnets, which can be activated with the MagnaSave buttons. The magnets are located where the flipper drawings are, under the droptargets. And those magnets send the ball to the droptargets.

This table is the same as Lady Luck but it also change the LADY lights using the MagnaSave buttons.

there is no better way to start the weekend than to have a new table of the master jp salas, :juggle:
These pinball tables of the late 70's I like very much, it was the evolution of the pinball with the change of the glorious electromechanical machines to the machines of solid state, :love39:
I have adjusted table slope difficulty in 6 (min) and 7 (max) and the played experience is excellent, :surprise:
thanks to JP for his great and nice job and also to Carlos Guizo, tio italo, Allknowing2012 and AKiles5000 for their valuable collaboration :otvclap:  :otvclap:  :otvclap:

I just uploaded my first directb2s creation for this table.  Its very simple, no lighting and just pic and reels.  maybe error so be kind.  I just have to have a directb2s to put on my cab.

thanks JP

according to IPD

the main difference between Vegas and Lady luck is that Vegas does not have the magnets

'Vegas' is the same game as Taito do Brasil's 'Lady Luck' but without the magnetic flippers. The artwork is derived from Bally's 1978 'Mata Hari'.

Yes, I know what it ways at the IPDB, but after consulting with real owners of both Lady Luck and Vegas, they said that the only difference is that in Vegas you could change the order of the blinking LADY lights. Something that many people complained when Lady Luck was first released. This was confirmed by Wagner Bastos, the owner of Pinball Clube de Boituva, and João Carneiro, the owner of JSW Pinball, he confirmed that Vegas has, in fact, extra buttons, which activate the magnets and also change the letters of the word L A D Y.

if there is incorrect info at IPDB they are very responsive to e-mails with corrections or updates.  they have had some site issues lately so submissions last I heard were broken, but it would be good to get correct information there.

Hi,

Here are some pictures of the magnets located where the flipper drawings are, under the droptargets, as explained before by JP. And there is also a short video explanation (in portuguese) made by Luiz Culik, the owner of "Museu do Pinball" in Brazil, who has Lady Luck, Vegas, and also Mata Hari among his incredible tables collection. The first table that is shown in the video is Vegas, and the last is Lady Luck. https://mega.nz/#F!9...ZwIOcup74HkX4xQ

JP fantastic table.  I did notice however that bumper4 has no sound.  Bumper3 is listed twice in the script.  Minor but thought you should know.

Hi!

My "Vegas (Taito) table from JPSalas always stores the status!

If I start the table again it has the same status as when pressing exit the last time.

What I mean is that if I exited the table on ball 3 with a score of 100.000,days after when I start the table (and VPX) again the pinball is at ball 3 with 100.000 Score.

What has to be done to always start from scratch after exiting the pinball?

thanks in advance for your support

Martin

Don't worry, this is not an issue. Actually, this is an intrinsic feature of all Taito roms. In Brazil of the 70's and 80's, power cuts were very common, and this resource is kind of work around for it, as, if this happens, the player would lose only one ball, and not the whole game.
Anyway, JP already has a fix for this, and he will implement it when he decide to update this table.
I hope you are enjoying to play Taito's VPX pinball collection. ;)
Greetings.
