Looks great! Love the DMD panel. I may steal that idea. I have not been happy with mine since I made it.

That 4th display really adds another level of coolness. Love the carbon fiber wrap idea. Just curious what mame program(s) you're using to get multiple displays? I'm pretty new to Mame and only ones I've found show on my playfield monitor and can't get them on the back box where they can be viewed correctly.

Depending on the version of MAME, you may have to set your backbox as the primary display in windows before running MAME to have it work on that display....even if you have MAME set to show on that display.
For my vertical MAME games, I have my playfield as primary display and I run a completely different install of MAME (in a directory called MAMEVertical) with MAME set to my playfield display.
For my horizontal MAME games, I have my backglass as primary display and I run a completely different install of MAME (in a directory called MAME) with that MAME set to my backglass display.
I have each version of MAME setup in Pinball X as their own "system" (MAME, MAME vertical). When a MAME game is launched, Pinball X will change my windows screen layout to whatever is needed for that system, and then change it back after I exit the game.

Ah, So will PinballX do that or are you using a script/app to change the monitor config? Thanks for the info btw.

You can have Pinball X do something as a "Before Launch" option, and something as an "After exit" (my wording may be different). It's in the settings for each system you setup in Pinball X.
So I have Pinball X use a program called "multimonitor tool" to change the layout of all 3 screens to anything I want. (landscape, potrait, primary, secondary, position, etc) Pinball X will run multimonitor tool to use my "MAME" layout before it launches MAME. After I exit MAME Pinball X is set to have multimonitor tool change my layout back to my "Pinball".

Awesome, Thank you! Been wanting to run a few NES and PS1 games for my daughter, but couldn't get them to display on the back box. ![]()

wow. very impressive skills for both projects. love the racing sim...i would build one myself, but right now, i dont have the room for it ![]()
great idea with the arcade controls below the playfield monitor...eliminates the lockbar-'problems' and makes it much more versatile! great job!

Hi Terry,
very impressive builds!
Since you are an adept of Bass shakers, you should also consider adding one or two of them in your Pincab.
It only works on VP if you have a second sound system for mechanical sounds, but the effect is totally worth it!
Posted 28 February 2016 - 07:07 PM
I was wondering if this was possible.... I assumed it would be using either DOF, or something like LED-Wiz to drive a device for the audio?
Or are you talking about VP having an option to output specific sounds / tones from a second sound card, which would then make the transducers shake based on certain events?
Do tell, please!
I actually have VP X up and running (Walking Dead PM5, Medieval Madness, Americas Most Haunted, T2, NBA Fastbreak, and a few others so far) with direct2bs as well.
So far its running, well "mostly" maxed out at 1920x1080, but there still is some odd stuttering I can't get rid of (vsyc = 1, pre-rendered frames = 1). The funny thing is, I can run the exact same settings with NVidia DSR (3840x2160), and get the same performance with the same small bit of stuttering.... any ideas?
I also want to to be able to have the direct2bs server use custom *.res files for each table, so I can extend or fit them for my "4th" screen. This works, but only if the direct2bs file runs in standard mode, which kills fps on some tables. In EXE mode it ignores the *.res files and only uses the default one. Is there any way around this?
