(NOTE: Read Re-Opening as: I actually bothered doing something again.)

Yeah, I think I've made this thread a few times, so I'm stickying this one so I don't forget about it. Anyhoo, I've actually bothered to record some new music for my archive at this place. I'm quite astonished I've hit 100 files so quick. This thread is for possible requests for me to record and/or update announcements. As I am typing this, I'm getting some WhoDunnit ready for the upload, so you should be able to get that soon.

I don't have much to say but get over to my archive and grab whatever you want! Have fun!

The Pinball Music Fanatic, The McD

P.S. Help with identifying unknown files is always welcome.

What is the purpose(s) of the music files? Are they ripped from the game sound? Are they improved from the original? in byterate. Are they to replace the existing sounds for better quality? or are these stand alone music files just for entertainment other than pinball? Maybe in your pinned/sticky you could put a forward/ or brief description and install directions of the uses and application of the music files in regards to updating tables etc. would be useful for those who do not dabble with changing tables in regards to music and how it is done.
Thanks

Erm.... replacing the music from the ROM would be complete idiocy, since I record it from the ROM itself (where else?). These files are simply for entertainment and I've never even thought they could replace something in a table.

So, no instructions needed. Step 1: Download. Step 2: Listen.

Not all roms have decent sounds. Some are full of static, others probably have a low bitrate. I just wondered if you tampered with the sound file by adding different frequencies or effects to make it sound better, and if those files could be reiinserted into the rom file or a separate sound file during gameplay, evidently NOT.

There are many programs and addons for recorded sound applications. With the advent of Stern pins Flintstones, Simpsons, Family Guy, I would think there would be 5.1 or 24bit recordings of soundtakes from their shows that's all... and I wasnt implying anyone was a" complete idiot"unless you were inferring I was for asking?

TBH, I erm'ed because I never even thought of that possibility. But it has one major flaw: Too much effort for too little gain. I mainly focus on the 90's DMD era, and for those the PinMAME sound emulation is already quite excellent. Improving the sound would lead to inflation of the file you'd need to download. In an extreme case like Whitewater, that may increase the file size by about 40 MB, which is just ridiculously over the top. Also, I don't think that those themed pins use the music from the original theme.

Bram Stoker's? If so, I'll probably get it done today, even though I might have to name a few "Unknown".

Getting ready to upload.

I've never been so unsure before. A truckload of what I call "Variations" and a ton of unknowns. And obviously "Unknown Variations". But my problem here is that the variations sound like distortions in the sound code. They sound really creepy, too, so they might actually be used in there, however I've never noticed.

So yeah, I need help with this.

Thanks for those Dracula ones! I'd help you out with them, but you seem to already know more than I do!
I'm very much enjoying the Coffin Multiball tune.

Those Unknowns are really creepy and I don't think I've heard any of them in the game EVER. Where do you get these mp3's from? Maybe there's beta tracks...

I rip them from the ROM using M3 and PinMAME32. Those Unknowns appeared after a set distance (a certain amount of sound pieces in the ROM) after the actual one. I really don't know if these are distortions that shouldn't even be there or if they're unused from a never released "corrupted mode" where everything starts going bananas like your pin is possessed. TBH, that "corrupted mode" sounds pretty awesome to me, now that I think about it.

I had this problem sometimes it is due to too much power being put on your processor by running background apps.

Hey, since you're taking requests, could you get the rest of Monopoly? I see you already have my favorite track (Cash Grab), but it's always good to have the whole thing, you know?

Just finished recording the raw tracks. 11 tracks, 8 Unknowns. But holy dooly, Unknown 7 is a bleedin' brilliant song. Listen to it and I believe you'll agree.

Anyhoo, I'm gonna have to add the fade out, convert to MP3, tune up the volume and upload it.
