Raven for VP9.9.1
by ICPjuggla, gtxjoe, zany and dark

1st I want to thank Herweh and cosmic80 for getting me started with this table.

2nd I want to thank gtxjoe, dark and zany for stepping in and helping me finish this build. Without you guys I don't think this table would of ever seen the light of day.

This is a 'from scratch' rebuild. Both VP 9.9.1 and Physmod 5 versions included in the release

Have a look at the options in the script. Your are able to select the controller, DMD rotation, Y ramp optins darks Y ramp or zanys Y ramp, flasher and GI on or off option's, GI green and white options, toggle button for VP mechanical sounds on/off, ball size and ROM name.

Special thanks to:
- Herweh and cosmic80 for getting us started. cosmic80 provided a lot of the photoshop work on plastics, light inserts and touched up playfield.
- unclewilly/wildman for table resources
- CaptainNeo for the playfield scan
- Jimmyfingers/unclewilly for halo lighting approach

Played it and WOW!  Super nice build for what is a decent pin that is hung by a horrid backglass!  LOL  Super smooth helicopter man, well done!  The playability is really nice, great speed that allow superior ball control, yet is no walk in the park either.  It shows there's been a lot of attention put through on the playability.

the only knock has nothing to do with you, rather its to do with my PINDMD, as this table is apparently not supported. Not the end of the world and like I said, nothing to do with the work you and the team have done on this.  Will send a PM to Russ on this one ;)

I played this lots instead of going to bed. Thanks a lot, now I'm going to be dog tired tomorrow and it sure as hell ain't my fault!  My wife will say "why the heck are you so tired?", well I'll just point her to this table and you know what she'll say?:  "Jeezus that is one lame backglass!"   ;).  There are some cool alternate Raven translites out there, and I don't mean adult themed backglasses either.  The attached backglass isn't that great but well it's better than the default version!  Seriously, probably a pic of a Super Hewey cockpit looking out at a jungle with an explosion in the distance would be an improvement.  Anyone comes up with anything like that to replace the existing one and I'm sending them beer money! LOL

Once more, terrific job.  This is an underrated table and you've nailed the gameplay perfectly.  Playing this shows your conversion has that same addictive pull that I've had when I played "Cosmic Gunfight", the gameplay is just so well balanced.

I've got perfect smoothness except for one half-second when the knocker goes off when I win a game by getting a million points. Not a fluke, I won a credit 3 times and it happened on all 3 occasions.  Really weird, it's not like there's all kinds of crazy activity, not that I've noticed anyway.  Anyway, a mere annoyance.

Ohhh man, this one plays über ! No stuttering going on with a free play, just a gorgeous lightshow.

For a mid 80's machine, and certainly one from premier, this is a fun machine !

Again Thanks all !

Hi again,

FYI, every time I've hit the Y ramp, it always seems to go to the right. Is there a manual diverter I'm supposed to use?  I thought it was just a random left/right thing but so far on my rig, always to the right.

Damn this game is fun!

Rob

I just played on my cab for over an hour today, the ball dose go to the right a lot but I did get it to drop to the left as well. It all depends on the shot you hit and how it hits the pegs on top of the ramp.

Are you playing regular or pm5?

PM5 version and I just got it to go to the left once!  :)

However, I did get a back stuck. It's one of those shots where the ball just crept up there and then it never came back down.  No amount of nudging loosened it, see screenshot where it approx. disappeared (couldn't see the ball)

Move the center peg slightly to the right...like one step in the editor, and the ball will go more random! :D

yep, I did and I had 8 attempts at the ramp.  2 went to the left ramp, 2 went to the right ramp and 4 didn't make it up that @#%# ramp.  IE: it's PERFECT!  Thanks Zany!

We will fix this in the next update. I'm going to wait a few days and see if anything else pops up.

Thx loaf and zany..

As for the ball stuck issue I haven't had that happen, but will look into that as well. Could be a PM5 thing as the ball sometimes on some tables goes though things for no reason. PM5 is kinda buggy unfortunately.

I read somewhere this table was actually supposed to be a licensed pin for the movie Rambo. In my opinion that would of been awesome I have always enjoyed the Rambo movies!

If someone wants to alter the pf and make the girl look like Rambo and put together backglass art to match for it we could put out an updated version with the new playfield etc. I'm sure we could just add an option in the script for that as I've seen it done on another table. We can still keep the pin called Raven b/c in the movies it's a mission Rambo went on. I beleive it was called 'Operation Raven'.

I really enjoy playing this pin as I think it's pretty fun my self. It's an underrated pin but quite fun to play..
