I just set up a couple of FP games in my cabinet. Below are a couple of pix - is this really the best I can get? Can I get it closer to a VP cabinet table? I will do some more searching and reading. I have so far done /arcaderender and check boxed that along with playing around with the view and backbox screen size. This is a former Ultrapin cabinet so its a 2 monitor setup.

*EDIT* Ignore my noobie question :-) I see the answer is to press scroll lock and size the table/glass. One question I  do have is .. How do I remove the score board that is sitting on the playfield? (do I just edit the table and move it off screen?)

Use BAM (Better Arcade Mode) - http://www.ravarcade.pl/  It will auto size and adjust the tables for cabinet use.

You are playing these in regular mode anyways, you need to check "arcade render" in the video options and set rotation to 270 degrees

in fp editor go to backglass you see mostly left upper corner dmd right mouse clik so you can unlock position then move it by draggin off from backglass

Bam installed and I used the menu to set the size and viewing angles. Not certain exactly what setting is referred to in previous post.

Slope? Seems quite funky at those values and plunger can't push ball up.

I moved the scores and such out of view so that's good too..

How can I be certain it's pulling in 2.6 phs? I copied and renamed but is there any indication anywhere that it is indeed in use?

People say VP is so difficult to setup, yet I find it very easy.  I actually have a hard time with FP.  It's a pain in da a** to setup and I still don't have DMD working.  FP is more confusing to setup then VP IMHO.  I really need to test out BAM, maybe that might help.

First in BAM use config and add  your real cab and glass  high, then it is easier to configure your table, if all is eine you can save it AS cfg file. So you Start with this settings all New tables. So you can save each settings per table, because every  table habe differences in x,y and z.

Cfg file table named makes life much easier, different lightnings and blur bring some surprises to your eyes.

Thanks .. I was able to quickly install and setup BAM. I think I have the settings good enough to handle the few tables I wanted in FP. Six Million Dollar Man, Ship Ahoy and Spirit of 76. I dont have a final pic handy but I changed the Point of View to be more downward so that the table didnt look so "spread out / layered" as though viewing it from the lock bar ;-)

ok i cant open your first post pics on my phone for some reason but it looks like you originally had my exact problem so how exactly did you remove the backglass portion from the playfield ? ty
by the way i did switch to arcade render but when i do it switches the res to 680 x 480. do i click both arcade and fullscreen or just arcade ? ty

ok so i reread this whole post...so i should run the tables through Bam which i have installed.not sure about the config file or ehere i change the values for the playfield but will keep exploring ty

I assume you are using BAM.
Once the table is loaded press Q and choose Static cam, tweak all the parameters to obtaining a full top view.

Under table and lights change the inclination.

I know there's a lot of parameter but once found the perfect setup you can set it as the default for all tables.
Don't forget to enable new renderer and if you have problem I can send you a configuration file

The one thing about BAM that I don't understand is each time I select New Renderer the table goes almost black and looks terrible.  After choosing New Renderer what else should be tweaked to keep the table from going so dark?

I'll send you the config file as soon as possible.
In the mean time to remove the on screen DMD, while in the editor press the translite button and grab away the DMD on the upper left (don't delete it)simply out of the box

Ok

First of all

- Go in Future Pinball \ BAM \ cfg Folder and delete all the files inside.

DOWNLOAD this configuration

- Copy downloaded file in  C:\...Future Pinball \ BAM \ cfg

- Start Future Pinball and press File\New (default new table will open)

- In Future Pinball editor under Preferences\Video Rendering Option check the "Arcade Mode" and set the Rotation to 270 or 90 (depends on your monitor) as showed in the pic below:

 gfxset.jpg

- Now you can press "Play Table" button and once in game press "Q" to set the Bam Option, press "Config" and "Save as default" (check the pics)

 BAM1.jpg

Bam2.jpg

From now all the tables (old and new) will be loaded with the same view\rendering settings, but every time you edit a single table BAM will alter only that single table you edited.

Obviously this configuration is only a base, because table dimensions and monitor could be different,

Tell me if you have problem
