File Name: King Rock (Gottlieb 1972) FS

File Submitter: loserman76

File Submitted: 07 Sep 2014

File Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): Bodydump
Loserman76
Manufacturer: Gottlieb
Year: 1972
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

**** REQUIRES VP 9.9x *****

Before the customary credit list, I have to say that without Bodydump being willing to take on the redraw of this table (plus he took the time to change stuff over to primitives!) that this table would not be such a beautiful final product that it is right now. I (and I'm sure a lot of folks out there who will now get to enjoy this table) appreciate all of your work (not just this one).

 '*
'*        Gottlieb's King Rock (1972)
'*        Table build/scripted by Loserman76
'*        Table images by Bodydump
'*        DOF Coding by Arngrim
'*        http://www.ipdb.org/...ine.cgi?id=1377
'*
'*  Thanks to the following for their contributions (whether they know it or not!)
'*  If I have missed anyone, let me know as this table would not exist without the
'*  folks in the community.
'*
'*  JPSalas - gameroom backdrop
'*  EalaDubhSidhe - table object templates
'*  Black - HS save/load routines
'*  Inkochnito - scorecards/instruction cards
'*  Pinuck - Gottlieb chimes and score motor routines
'*  Herweh - directB2S designer and tools
'*  JimmyFingers - rolling ball and other objects' sound routines
'*  GNance - High score postit and option menus
'*
The options menu is now available by holding down the left flipper key for about 2 seconds when a game is not in progress. Once opened, left flipper moves between the different menu items and the right flipper goes through that item's available choices.

This table uses Arngrim's new methodology for DOF/B2S configurations. Be sure to copy the controller.vbs file to your table folder if you don't already have one there.
First run of any table that uses this setup will ask you about DOF and what you have. After that, you are all set.
The backglass is a separate download, so be sure to grab that too

-will be uploading a fix shortly.

This is fantastic. I have been trying to figure out how to get "King Rock" on my cabinet for awhile now. My wife's Father owned one and her and her brothers spent many hours playing it. Getting this on my cabinet goes a LONG way with the wife acceptance meter. Only problem is, I can't get the link to work. Says file not found.

A bug was reported and an update is probably pending.

Great table but I am having a slight issue which is more than likely a configuration issue on my end. This happens at the end of every game. Running VP 9.9 and windows 8. Thanks for any assistance.

Did you install vp in your program files folder by any chance?

Now that you mention it...yes I did. It hasn't been a problem so far. Could that cause an issue?

Depending on some windows version there are very strict rights for those programs installed in that folder. Vp and all other vp related programs like vpinmame, front end, tex are best installed outside of the program files folder. Especially with win 7 and 8 which I suspect you use

That or set VP to run as an administrator (of course you get those annoying UAC prompts), but that should allow it to remain in the c:\program files folder.

That solved the problem. Relocating the installation fixed it right up. Thanks for the assistance. My wife loves it and I am just as bad at the virtual "King Rock" as I was the actual one. Looks like I won't be bragging about any high scores on this one. Thanks again.

I lost all the dings and dongs with the latest DOF release ( I don't use DOF). Everything worked ok with the 1.1a version. Any ideas.? Would like that post it note for HS that this new version has.
