Cosmic Gunfight FS for VP9.12+
by Koadic, OldSkoolGamer, ICPjuggla, and JimmyFingers
Physics by Rob046

Thanks go to CaptainNeo and Plumb for the pf scan.
And another thanks to JimmyFingers for the new GI http://www.vpforums...._DIR#/smile.png

This was a 'from scratch' rebuild. Both a white and yellow bumper cap is included in the table if you prefer to use one over the other, just select the bumpers (aBumperCaps collection) and choose the "Bumper_w" or "Bumper_y" image.

In addition, this table features an analog plunger setup that utilizes the impulse plunger. It also includes B2B collision coding with an addition to automatically disable it when it detects that you are running on 64bit XP.

In v1.1.1, extra GI images have been removed from the main file to reduce size, but you can still download them from here: CGAltGI.zip

Enjoy

Wow! Excellent work! I put this on my cab along with the UVP and it plays great! The B2S works great and its clever to sense 64bit and turn it off to prevent errors.

Quite a surprise, and big thanks!!!

Nice job, thanks guys!

For my part I'm happy with the UVP backglass. Unless the backglass requires special animation like the spider in Scared Stiff or the old style roller scoring in the EM tables, or it's one of the newer Stern tables that I have to run sound samples for, I'm fine with the UVP. After an assembly line style setup of my cabinet I've got the UVP setup down to a science. :throw:

Not bad at all. Table looks great. The only issue for me is that I think it needs to have a bit more layback. Other than than nice table.

Love it, really like to old williams (80s tables). Survived Hurricane, without power, but Generator going so I can still play on my pincab and have internet. Life if good! I hope others in NJ are doing as well.

I've gone ahead and created 2 different wheel logos for Hyperpin... you can download them from the download section, or if you want, just click on the one you want to use, and right click/save as.

First off, fantastic re-creation here and thanks to all the dudes involved in releasing this early 80's bit of pinball history!! I love the gameplay of these early 80's pins - the gameplay is fantastic and the sound is mind blowing!

That being said, I encountered a minor, but strange bug. I have the Nanotec plunger kit in my cabinet and the plunger doesn't work UNTIL I've used the enter key at least once after the table has started.

To reproduce this bug, reload VP912, reload Cosmic Gunfight and "play" the table. Immediately after pinmame has loaded and initialized, try to use the analog plunger and it doesn't work. If you press the enter key, now it works.

I tried to look at the script to see if there is some way of initializing the analog plunger first but my VP-Script-Fu isn't up to the magic that Koadic put into this one so I'll defer to the experts here.

Or, I'm crazy...

Best Regards,
Todd.

Alright, that is now fixed in v1.01, in addition to adding script at the top where you can manually enable/disable B2B if you should happen to get an error (by default it is still set to autodetect OS/x64)

Just above the Table_Init section, you can change B2BOn to 0 or 1 to manually turn off or on if you are having issues, otherwise it is set to 2 which will run the scripting to detect it automatically.

Downloaded it, loaded it up, and I have this say this is quite awesome. I have never played a cosmic gunfight and I obviously missed a good one.

Great job all around, thanks.

Very nice Table indeed!

I'm in the process of redoing the UVP right now .. it could also do with a better quality Backglass ..
Rob046, you might have a better one? ;)

Cheers,
FD.

Hey, FD, here is one I grabbed from the images I was given with a little work done to correct the perspective and such, not sure if the aspect ratio is 100% correct though... all you really need to do is black out the led sections, and maybe resize it a little.
