In the process of building a full size pinball cab with a 46 inch touchscreen, 27 back box display and 19 inch 4:3 DMD (19 inch is about as small as we can get here in Aus for a reasonable price from what I found dry.gif )

I was hooked when I saw Chris's cabinet on the Hyperspin forums and will be blatently plagiarizing his ideas. Worship.gif

To the important stuff - PC specs

Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD7B3 LGA1155
Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40Ghz Quad-Core CPU (Sandy Bridge)
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium PCIe Fatal1ty Pro Series
1000W Corsair Modular PSU
4Gb Corsair PC-12800 (1600MHz) XMS KIT
Samsung 27in P2770HD 16:9 TV Monitor
Thermaltake Frio CPU Cooler
Gigabyte GeForce GTX560Ti x 2
Creative Gigaworks T3 BLACK Speakers, 2.1 Channel, 80W (RMS)
Acer 19in V193BBMD LCD monitor, 4:3
A4 Tech Slim 2.4G Wireless Desktop XFar
100Gb OCZ Vertex LE (Limited Edition)
46 inch ELO touchscreen monitor

Started off with the electrical tray -

Attached the Cree LED's to the heat sinks and wired them ready to go

Electricans version of a power board dblthumb.gif

Coin door with microswitch for reject button press = credit. Both coin mechs still work as normal.

Then PC gear arrived

Looks like I will be able to get a clean 5 Ghz when completed. Just want to stress test it for a bit longer when its in the cab to keep an eye on temps.

I had intended on building the cabinet myself, but with not too much spare time up my sleeve, I decided to go with a cab from Arcadeworx. So glad I did.

Been working on the side art too. Had a couple of differnent styles but this is the one I think I am going with.

Came across this art from Derek Prospero's collection and made this image from one of his wallpapers.
Sent him a few emails regarding use, etc. It has lost a lot of detail when I reduced but you get the idea. Got a bit of a Matrix feel about it......
Looking to back light it with LED's in resin behind the higlighted areas. (Thanks Mameman!)

looking good, artwork is going to be killer. surprised with using the i-pac you wired the credit switch rather than using the shift function to enable the credit button.

That looks tidy as Max.

I was following your advice in the guide, but having some trouble finding certain things.
Just have to shop about a bit more.
I love the DIN rail connector and power set up, I need to look into that a bit more I think.

Amazing job so far.

@DedRok_V - I am looking to update the guide with as many locations as I can for where to find most of the gear. I think the electrical wholesalers in NSW is TLE. They will be able to order in anything you need or even RSAustralia if you prefer to buy online. Dont hesitate to PM me if you need help with anything from the guide.

@Mameman - Never even thought of the shift function to be honest mate. Typical sparky - 2 wires and job done! biggrin.gif

@maxxsinner I already use RSAus to get most things I need.
Will send you pm with some questions when I get that far. Ton of other jobs that need to be finished first.
Now thats how a wiring job should look.

looking great !

There is really no need for your cpu to be overclocked that high, every table will run with that cpu at stock, i know cause i use the same.
and i have a few experiment tables that push vp to the max extremes and only get stutter very rarely on monopoly only now

keep it standard IMHO it will keep heat down and your pc will be happier for it.

RS Components is Awesome we use them at work and i have had an account for years myself. I even have a digital version of there catalog on my iphone.. cause i'm a looser.

that wins

Mine will be similar to yours as I have gone for the Williams widebody dimensions with modifications only to the width to suit my 46 inch monitor.

Nice work man! You're going to love it!

Why touchscreen?

(I would love to one day build a touchscreen Roullette/poker/blackjack table with VP software using a touchscreen)

It was free second hand from a job that my company did and took out one of the major expenses in building a cab. If I didn't have the 46 inch for free, I dont think Iwoul have been able to justify the cost to the mistress of finance wub.gif .

Arcadeworx uses the widebody plans from the original Williams cab. Same as the image from Mamemans thread Dr Who

As I stated ealier, I only altered it to suit the width of my screen when I was in the planning stages with Arcadeworx. All other dimensions will be the same.

I have not purchased my side art yet for the pinball. I was refering to side art that I bought for my mame arcade machine in the other thread with regards to how good the service and quality of print was from gameongraphix. As for the size that the art work is printed at, a quote from the link I posted - if you are creating a 300dpi marquee that will print at 26x8” create it at that size. We will print it the size you send it, we will not resize it.

Finished the next part of the cab. Welded up a unit with draw slides for easy access to all my gear.

One shelf for the PC and one for all the electronic components and terminals
