Thank you so so much Requiem for making a desktop version, it looks great. I cannot wait to give it a spin. Can't thank you enough. Will you be making desktop versions now on? Maybe even give your T2 and Rollergames a desktop treatment?

Very nice package all around. Helicopter nicely sized to add to the drama. Lighting and graphics clarity are stunning.

Surprised to see that 4000 of these were built. I like it, but not a table I thought had big appeal.

Thanks for making this shine so well Zedonius.

Thanks requiem for the desktop version!

faralos, I think HD means high resolution graphics here (my opinion though).

Slightly choppy here, but then my system is so far below VP9 specs that I'm more surprised all of the other machines run perfectly smooth for me. This is actually the first one I've had any stutter problems with. But the machine looks great and (except for the one problem I'm about to mention) plays great too. Thanks requiem!

Now I did run into a problem where the first game played fine, but with my second and subsequent games the machine was releasing two balls to the plunger instead of just one. I don't know why...I didn't fool with any settings and apart from pressing L to turn the lights off I only hit the standard control keys. I've only done the one play session so far, so I'll try it again when I get home and see if it happens again.

Everybody needs to remember that this is a system 3 game. The roms for this system are the most demanding on cpu. You generally want a 3ghz+ cpu to play all of them smoothly. I remember trying to play system 3 games when I had a 1.4ghz P4, & they barely could boot up, & when they did I got like 2 frames per second!

The game runs very smooth for me, but I got a 3.8ghz i7. Even then, I did notice very slight stuttering during multiball.
I tell people all the time that for VP, you want your cpu with high clocks. This is more important than how many cores it has, how old it is, or whether its a P4 or an i7. While in other gaming, # of cores or other cpu specs might help make a difference, in VP performance seems directly related to how fast your clock speed is.

This is why I highly recommend people get a Core2Duo or an "i" series cpu, simply cuz even a casual user on air cooling can often get a 1ghz overclock on those bad boys. In fact even for non overclockers, most of the "i" series of cpu's have "turboboost", which is basically a built in overclocker, it does this by default. To get the max out of it you might need to fix some bios settings, but just by default when the cpu detects a single threaded app (like VP) that needs more resources, the multiplier can jump up to 3x to give you instant overclock. Some people even use turboboost on top of their manual overclock, though that can make things unstable if you don't do it right.

One note about this table though, to the author. I only played a couple balls so I might have more comments later, but I wanted to mention that while this does seem to be a 4:3 table, your screenshot above is a widescreen screenshot. This might confuse people into thinking they need to run at a widescreen resolution.
Maybe fix the screenshot or put in your table notes that the table is indeed 4:3 & should be run at a 4:3 res.

Great pin! I get a little stuttering but not too much. I have no clue on how to overclock anything (this tower was built for me by Rascal) I am guessing that he did everything he could to overclock it. It plays real well and I forgot to turn off the lights so that may be the reason for MY ball stutter, too. I didn't get any double ball at all and that's a weird thing to crop up. usually it's a forgotten snippet of coding that will always have the ball come out if you hit the "1" button. But to not have it happen then it starts up, that's odd to say the least. It's fun to play though, thanks for this! cool.gif

Hello
Help, will not let me add credits. Why?

Greetings

César

There are two things you can do to get this game to work:

1. Download the pre-configured nvram pack for System 3 and Bally 6803 tables. Unzip the file to your nvram folder. You can find download the pack from this link:

http://www.vpforums....u...l&f_id=1362

or

2. You can configure the nvram yourself. When the game renders and the rom starts do the following:

Press 7 to enter rom menu
Press left shift key to scroll to game adjustments
Press right shift key to select
Press 1 key twice
Press F3 to reset

You should be able to coin up then.

Hope this helps.

After playing this game a few times, it has some problems & things that can be improved. One thing I noticed is that the table is very small. Only 900x wide & 1920x length. Even EM's are 952x wide. Its OK, I'm not saying anybody should do anything, I guess this version is still better than the prior. I tweak for personal use. Flippers are way too strong (small table size exacerbates this), table slope is too steep, & I noticed the bumpers look oddly tall. Also this table visually looks extra jagged on some edges, & perhaps the ramps could use more control points.

I also wanted to correct the viewing angle on this table, but it is not angle independant.
I know this was probably a complicated table to work on, & some things were done well & I can tell a lot of work went into it. I'm sure your tables will get better & better as you hopefully keep doing them. Maybe in the future get some playtesters who will spot some of these things right off the bat, at least with the gameplay which is by far the most important part of any VPM table.
