Thanks, but can you provide a 4:3 version for those of us on 4:3 or 16:10 monitors?
Or at least provide the needed info to convert it to 4:3. Info on a 16:10 conversion would be a nice bonus as well.
The 4:3 version will take some time, since i haven't even started it, whereas the WS version was fairly far along by the time I finished the
FS.
as far as 16:10 vs 16:9, someone else is gonna have to figure that out. Personally I think the scaling difference is negligible, but to each their own.
My only desire in making this table was to have a 2-screen
FS version for my cab. When i finish the 4:3 version, i will have created 3 complete versions that I have no use for - so making a 16:10 on top of that is pretty much out of the question - only so many lawns I'm willing to mow (to paraphrase Bob)
cheers,
pinuck.
First of all thanks again for the table & I do appreciate your work in multiple versions. It didn't sound like you were gonna do a 4:3, which is why I posted what I did. I apologize for that, its just that WS only seems to be a trend lately, so I was assuming you were doing the same.
I don't ask for a 16:10 version. Just saying it would be nice if you could provide the info that gets the table to properly scale at 16:10 if that is easy enough to do. It is probably just changing the X scale number, right? Otherwise I'm happy just having the 4:3 version, that is the most important one as it is the only version guaranteed to render properly for everybody.
I most definitely see the difference when a 16:9 is stretched to 16:10, I can show some good examples of what areas are most affected. Especially with rounded objects, I notice it most looking at the bumpers which render too tall. My monitor can't maintain aspect ratio for 1920x1080, but even for those who can, that really isn't any better than stretching since you'll get black bars on top & bottom of screen & lose screen height which is so important for desktop users.
If you only have use for the
FS version, then I'd say to only release a 4:3 version on top of that. I think the WS version is the extra one you could scrap. Release 4:3 & save yourself time. Just provide WS conversion info in table info if you feel like it, but WS is a luxury, not needed, & IMHO doesn't bring much to the table to make it worth the hassle it can bring.
Hey, if I had things my way authors would only have to make 1 version, just 4:3 like the old days. & if you don't like making 3 versions of a table, clearly scrap the WS one.
