Pinball Pool VP9

Version: 1.01
Category: VPinMAME 9.x Recreations

Author(s): unclewilly, textures by popotte

Description:
Pinball Pool vp9
Pinball Pool Gottlieb 1979

Thanks to popotte for his beautiful texture redraws
Thanks to Grizz, TheKeef, and Freddie

The table is set the way i like to play it, which is kind of fast. to achieve more accurate gameplay:
-Open the table in the editor
-Change the Global difficulty to a value between 0 and .25
this will slow the table down and reduce some of the physics settings

If you prefer wide screen settings:
-open the table in the editor
-click on the backdrop button
-change the XScale to .825
-change the image to BackdropWS

This table has all lower res textures. Nothing above 1024x1024 so it should be playable for everyone

F6 to adjust the dip switches (thanks Inkochnito)

enjoy

Updated to v1.01
-Added the "Remotrip" Drop Targets
3ball drops the opposite target
5ball drops the opposite target on even numbers

Set the balls per game by pressing f6

Well it sure LOOKS nice but it doesn't start at all! I tried the '5' key the '1' key the 's' key and nothing. And yes I have the rom pack and yes it's in the correct folder so now what? why won't it start at all?

The System 1 tables that I have tested only use 3 and 4 to accept coins. 5 does not work with System 1 tables for some reason.

Anyone ever tried to edit the vbs?

I can't think it would be too hard.

Yeah can't be that tricky, I've hacked the core.vbs several times myself to adjust nudge setting. smile.gif

This table rocks. Who says we need "photo" images smile.gif - this one looks just like photo. Great table, great graphics!

It is a little bit too fast for me - I compared it to older TAB & Destruk & Gaston version - I copied backglass settings from this old table to the new one - now i like it even more - it is little bit slower but plays more like real pinball was playing. After all in my time this was one of the slowest pinballs in my arcade club.

If you want to try this slow settings change:
(backglass options)
inclination 50 to 40
field of view 35 to 55 (or 45)
scale - for widescreen 0.825, for 4:3 leave it as it is - 1.1
gravity 1.6774 to 1
contact friction 0.0015 to 0.0025
contact scatter angle 5 to 0
dampering speed 35 to 60

and as uw said:
Global difficulty in table options - physics from 0,65 to 0,25

Dunno,if I remember right, but wasn't there an adjustment for drop targets, that if you
shoot one down from the other side, one should drop from the other side,as well?
Correct me if I'm wrong.

I believe you are right Pete. In fact, the IPDB does state in its notes for the table that:

Hitting a target also knocks down the opposing target. Gottlieb advertised this feature as "Remotrip" drop targets.

I don't believe that the previous VP8 table had this feature enabled either.
