I'd like to introduce to you the VirtuaPin™! This virtual pinball project started with just the want for a cab and has turned into something much more! After seeing a lot of members wishing they could have one, build one, or buy one, we've decided to make them available to everyone! For those of you who would love to have a cab, but don't have the skills, tools, workspace, or motivation, let us build one for you! Our goal is to create a high quality, affordable virtual pinball cabinet optimized for any virtual pinball platform. The features of our standard cabinet include:

With those PC specs, every table runs flawlessly, without stutter, even with UVP!

@ Popotte - Yes, we can. We have plans on doing a true woodrail-type cabinet in the future. Stay tuned.

Price is nice compared to what I've seen other people put into theirs... and they still had to build it themselves. Lots of advantages going this route.

160GB seems small next to 250GB or bigger disks that like $3-$4 more then the cost of a 160GB HDD.

2gb is ok for now but when you move to ddr3 systems you may want to go to 4gb.

With the Warranty can you ship just the bad part and not pay a lot to ship the full cabinet?

160GB is a starting point, as are all the PC hardware specs. It's best to say these are the minimums we'll be using. Bear in mind, a few dollars here on this and a few dollars there on this adds up. To keep the starting price as reasonable as possible, this is where we're starting. Everything is accessible by merely removing the glass and lifting the playfield monitor and sliding it back, if you want to upgrade anything in the future, it's a breeze.

4GB RAM is available. Again, in keeping the starting point low and building on it with options, we can make these as affordable as possible for everyone.

Warranties on parts are just that. With the ease in which you can access the components, simply ship the part.

Bear in mind, these are the specs of our first build, and we ran every table, sans BBB's Monopoly, stutter-free with UVP in the tables we tested.


@ strangeleo - That was my WIP of Breakshot. The light lenses still need images and a few other things. I really wanted Greg to give it a play to compare physics, which he told me were spot on, with only a couple minor exceptions. It should be ready soon for release.

I wish you the best of luck with this and, having done a quick sum in my head, I don't think you're making a lot of profit from each table at that price point.

I know it seems like a lot of cash, but if you think about the component costs, the assembly time, the warranty and the development investment, this is a bargain. I don't think you're going to be buying your new Grand Banks yacht off the back of this project, but if you can match Stern's sales, you'll be able to give up the day job!

Let's be honest- it's not 'affordable' in the same way that a $1000 pin is, but I think you definitely have a market. I just wish I'd thought of it first!

From the video and the piccies, it looks like a quality product and I suspect you may find a lucrative niche market. Doffs cap.

Desktop users will certainly not be forgotten. Everyone is just as important to us as the next guy (or gal), regardless of their VP format, be it 8, 9, 4:3, Spanned, FS, WS, and whatever else comes next!

It's ALL about the pinball, not how you play it.
