Flashing table / stuttering Ball

Best Answer Outhere , 28 February 2019 - 08:28 PM

Set video card to default settings and in VP10 Don't have extras turn on...

With 4KTV you don't need much it just plain looks good, I know mine Does...

I also have Ddraw off For every rom in the registry

I'm running VP10 version 3592 - Seems to be very stable

Hi guys,

before i posted this i tried many of the settings recommended here and elsewhere.

So here are my specs.

Iijama 4k playfield

asus strix board z370-e

i3 with 4,2 ghz 4 cores

32gb ram / 3200

gtx 1070 TI

so as i play everything is super smooth

i take these 2 tables now for example beacuse they are a good one for my problem. Maybe somebody else got the same or can help

Startrek Limited edition / as soon i hit the enterprise and all flashers go off the ball stutters crazy

Attack from Mars / g5k as soon i hit the saucer and the lights flashing crazy stutter

these stutters are just for a moment. As soon the flash lightning dissapear everything else works super smooth.

I tried all the reccomended setting on the internet but cant fix that.

Can somebody help ?

i realized that ballstutter including a backglass is the problem , so the real problem is the backglass.

example Startrek Limited edition / Roadshow if i remove the backglass problems are gone

You Might be able to fine a different back glass or right click the back glass and there sometimes settings in there you can change

Nice to see that there is a stutter thread.

Thing is, I'm new to the whole Visual Pinball thing.

I'll admit, I only started to get stutter on Tee'd Off and Super Mario Bros. after enabling a good quality B2S Backglass with Virtual DMD.

When I was running these tables on a single screen, they ran fine.

Anyone know what settings I should use and where to find said settings?

Yes known fact B2S is a huge resource hog, that could, should be able to be remedied, replaced via native VP multiple screen support.

Files I have uploaded here...

UPDATE:

So, I done a bit of tinkering with my Tee'd Off script.

I decided to test the alternate ROMs I had for this table.

Seems the first version works a charm. No stutter whatsoever.

Going to play it a bit more to see if the stutter is completely eliminated.

The only issue with this ROM, is the fact that the DMD loads at the wrong size, so it looks like a squashed square, and you can't make anything out on it.
But that's what Virtual DMD is for, right?
So, I turned off the normal DMD, and it all seems fine.

I'll come back with results.

EDIT: I had to say goodbye to my 500+mil high score.  :bye2:

i just realise that the backglass is the problem. I tried to change settings and it worked a bit more.

The problem is that i did not complete my goal to just make a illumated backglass without the animations.
