DOFLinx Changed to LEDWiz - Not activating

I swapped out my 2 Saintsmart devices for a LEDWiz, Wired it up VP and FP work..

My 1st LEDWiz and Teensy are working...

I can not get FX2 To activate the 2nd LEDWiz but a log looks like it's working,  What am i missing?

More LEDWiz - I love it!  I have two myself.

 

I can see from the log that two LEDWiz are recognised - excellent start.  Nothing else in the log will tell us if you have any toys configured to the second LEDWiz.

 

What toys are connected to LEDWiz #2?  Have you set them up in DOFLinx.INI?  Remember to use 2xx as the device for the second LEDWiz whereas you would be using 1xx for toys on the first LEDWiz.  From what I can see you should be able to happily have devices from 101 - 132 and 201 to 232

 

Have you tried using the test function to manually trigger toys on LEDWiz #2?

 

If you're still stuck try ....

1.  A manual test from the DOFLinx test menus for a toy on LEDWiz #2.  Does it work?

2. Describe where your're toys are connected and and post your DOFLInx.INI

I guess I should have posted the ini  and mention that I used the tester....
The tester works on all items all the time.....

What I found out

if I go into a game it doesn't work, I come out of a game go back into any of the games and everything works fine untill I have to restart the DOFLinx then I have to do that again to make it work....

Thanks for the extra info.  I still can't see a problem, but as always, that just means we're yet to find it!

 

So, if I understand correctly, the symptoms that match the log posted above are:

No flipper solenoids for Walking Dead being the first game played, exit and restart, the second game played being Captain America worked - am I correct?

The log shows flippers being triggered, without some more info I just can't see which output ports (I'll PM you some other stuff so we can tell)

 

Great news that the test runs, that shows that everything is there and working

 

What menu are you using (PInballX), and are these tests running from the menu?

Do you have the PinballX plugin running?

Do toys other than the flipper solenoids work on the first game?

If you are using a menu, can you try and run FX2 manually and see if you still need the restart?

On the 1st game nothing Works..... If I start the 2nd game without restarting DOFLinx everything works and any game after that..

I was using pinballx to do everything...

I ran it straight from the Fx2 menu and everything works on the 1st game....

I am using 2 plugins in pinballx

The one called LED plugin if I turned that off everything works fine...  -  So the LED plugin is interfering with it...  But Why

I'm not sure why.  I haven't heard of anyone else having a repeatable problem like this.  I would suspect timing.  It may be that PinballX is starting FX2 before it closes its use of DOF, if that was the case, DOFLinx could miss being able to use DOF properly as PinballX still has the cabinet construct open.  A bit of a stretch, but possible.  You could test that theory by adding about 5 seconds (5000) to the parameter that waits before activating DOFLinx fully after the activating program is detected.  I'm at work on Monday morning and can't quite remember the name of the parameter, its something like PROCESS_WAIT_BEFORE

Did some more testing I hooked one of my flippers to the 1st LEDwiz and it works all the time - so maybe that plug in and the 2nd LEDwiz don't like each other

Can you run your flippers from LEDWiz #1?  Do other devices on LEDWiz #2 work with DOFLinx for the first game loaded?  In other words, is moving toys across LEDwiz devices a valid work-around?

On the 1st game launched the 2nd LEDwiz is completely dead when I launch a second game and every game after, Everything works but once I reset DOFLinx it starts the process again so even if I swap LEDWiz whatever have on the 2nd one will always be dead on the 1st game launched...LED plugin is interfering with 2nd LEDWiz....

I try to look that plugin up to see if there was an update but I can not find it...

It turns out if I go completely out of pinballx and back in the 1st game does not activate the 2nd LEDwiz with the plug in turn on -- has nothing to do with Restarting DOFLinx

Sorry I missed this last post - my bad.  From other threads I believe you are now on top of this by changing to a common USB root hub, correct?

I'm going to try moving the USB's around and see if that helps

After doing the upgrade (DOF R3++ and DOFLinx 6.22) the plugin that I'm trying to use causes all my Solenoids to fire when I go into pinballx.... Before the Solenoids would fire once an a while but now They're firing as soon as it goes into pinballx and continue firing as long as I'm in pinballx With that plug in turn on...

UpDate

This problem only seems to affect my 2nd Ledwiz

I moved the 2nd LEDwiz to a 2.0 USB port and now I am back to the Solenoids fire once in a while attract mode...

Visual pinball is working

FX2 now works correctly when you run the 1st game the solenoids are firing....

The upgrade made fx3  work a lot better
