Been trying to figure this out for the last few days. I build 3 screen tables, I would like to be able to use the backglass monitor as my main display. I would like everything else to display as it does now. I have screens 1,3,2 in my desktop. 3 is the backglass monitor a 1440x900 monitor. I would like to use that as my main display so that I can use Hyperspin on the backglass monitor. However when I change the main display to the backglass monitor when I run HyperPin it uses that for the main table display instead of screen 1 which is a 1080p monitor. Maybe someone can make sense of what im trying to do, if you can help, please do.

Use Display Changer II in an ahk or bat script to change your primary display from playfield to backglass prior to running HyperSpin,

Use another script to change it back when you want to run PinballX or whatever.

When using MameUI you can set how many screens you have, and where you want to bring up the content. Not sure now, but i think Mame and MameUI uses the same mame.ini
Worth a try! :)

MAME have a -Screen Parameter, for example in PinballX you can select your Game AND Screen by:
[TABLEFILE] -screen \\.\DISPLAY2 ( or 1 )

Type exactly this: \\.\DISP...

I dont know, if Hyperpin can do the same, but i think, yes.

Also works with a Shortcut like:
C:\MAME\mame64.exe GAME -screen \\.\DISPLAY2

... example for Game, Change to: 1942

mame.ini:
CORE ROTATION OPTIONS
there is a rotate, Change to 0 or 1
OSD VIDEO OPTIONS:
window: 1 or 0 for Fullscreen
numscreens: # of your Screens, ex.: 3

Thats all, have Fun ;)

True....even in MameUI you first have to set the number of screens, then what display is 1, 2 or 3, then in the game, you also have to set what to display where via the TAB menu and video settings,

You can do this by default....so all of the games do this, or right click then properties on each game and do it separatly if you want to!

But i dont recomend, to use Shortcuts for all ;) of course not.
It's just for Test and if anyone have some Games only, you can use it without "GAME",
so you get the Quick Menu to choice your Game.

Whatever, "[TABLEFILE] -screen \\.\DISPLAY1" works fine on PinballX ....
( Pacman, Mr. Do and Donkey Kong on a Pinball Cab  :D )

Thank you for the responses, ill see if I can wrap my head around this and try it later on. How would this work with HyperSpin as a frontend?

Allow me to ask a different question. How can I run VP with my backglass (screen 3) as a main monitor? So again it would be screen 1 for the playfield, screen 3 as backglass and screen 2 as my DMD. Currently if I run HyperPin with my backglass as my main display it just shows the playfield there instead of screen 1. Using HyperPin as a frontend.

You can't. VP Playfield will show up on the main monitor.

was finally able to get the display on the BG using the screen parameter in mame.ine (\\.\DISPLAY1) instead of auto. Now I just need to figure out how to get this working in PBX
