I love this community for stuff like that. Would also save shipping time for us Western Hemisphere folks. When I ordered my pindmd2 it took probably 2 weeks to Alaska. Not too bad but from Canada for future buyers wouldn't be bad at all.

Thanks Russ, let's see if the board works first and then we can figure it out. I want to make sure that my desk doesn't self-immolate before I get too carried away... :killwithfire:  ....:)

Transformer Update: I'm placing the order with the transformer manufacturer tomorrow morning. Lead time is 2-3 weeks, so for those of you who sent me a PM asking to be put on the list, expect to receive an invoice around that time-frame. I'll update this post tomorrow to confirm the price (as stated earlier should be right around $35 USD + shipping).

Well back to the topic at hand I found this site that has Vishay plasma dmds for $159.00 plus shipping. I will be getting mine from here.

http://mad-amusement...?id_product=236

Greeting's,

Having been a lurker here for quite some time but this conversation is just what I was looking for. I also ordered the plasma DMD from Mad-Amusements and they were lightning fast with the shipping. They sent me a tracking number for shipment the same day I ordered it. I am awaiting my PinDMD2 board and then the power requirements are the next hurdle. I anxiously await the results of this and won't hesitate to place my order when ready. Great job for all involved.

Received my DMD today from Mad Amusements. Extremely happy with it, I know he received a bad rap in the past over a few things, but he was super fast with my shipping and I am really happy with the end result.

We are a strange bunch of people... I just realized the pinball industry is mostly switching away from plasma to low powered LED DMD, and some of us just can't wait to get a plasma DMD:dblthumb:

Received my PinDMD2 board today. Another step toward Plasma DMD nirvana. Now if I can get the power system nailed down I'll be in business....as to the Pepsi vs. Coke thing, I tend to lean toward whatever is on sale....and Diet...very important....must maintain my healthy lifestyle....now excuse me while I get back to my Doritos Bag.. :P

Hey RoccoC,

Is it too late to get added to the list for a transformer?  I just ready this freaking thread and I am drooling!

Added you to the list. :)

Looks like due to the July 4th holiday that I won't be receiving the transformers until early next week. I'll keep everyone posted!

I too am extremely late to the party...how typical according to my wife... :stunned: but I would love to be added to the list as well. Thanks either way for the great work being done in this endeavor.

Edit: I have a bummed out led dmd and it seems if I am going to replace it, might as well do so with the real thing. Sounds wise, no? :). Anyway tentative here, will make up my mind in the next couple of days. How many of those transformers are left?
