Wow, you're selling the exact same transformer I had custom made, same model number and everything (post #121)! What a coincidence! I guess your customers can be confident it will do the job since it's already been put to the test by the community.  :dblthumb:

Not at all.

:nea:

Apparently, it's a crime to supply the community that which it asks for now?

Not gonna beat a dead horse here, but maybe a nod to him for doing the legwork for you would have been in order instead of hijacking the thread to use it as an ad for your latest offering...it's your site though so do as you see fit.

Well, my apologies to Rocco, if he feels that way, and big thanks to you for playing spokesman.

I saw the last few pages were of posts asking where to get transformers, piggyback boards, and DMDs. I do what I can to provide the community with what they need at fair prices.

I only seem to get persecuted each and every time, sadly.

Thanks!

I suppose next, you're going to get shitty with randr for his LEDWiz kit, or should he be getting shitty with you?

I'm a member of this community, too, ya know!

Well, to be honest I was a bit surprised to see that you were selling the exact same transformer that was custom made for me...Not to sound like a crybaby, but I (and others in this thread) put in a good amount of work to determine the proper specs and tested a few iterations over a couple of months to finally come up with the model you are now selling. Obviously I didn't intend to make any money by selling these transformers -- if I did, I would have done more to satisfy the demand (and sure as hell wouldn't have sold them with the manufacturer label on them) -- so it's not like I'm losing any business or anything.

In the end, I'm just happy people are now able to run plasma DMDs in their cabs.

Rocco, I am truly sorry if you felt slighted. That wasn't my intent.

I started VirtuaPin, because time and time again people were asking 'how' and 'where', so I provided the 'how' and 'where'. The only guy building cabs at the time was raping people at $8999.00, even!

If anyone gives a damn about my feelings, it makes it hard to work 80 hours weekly, trying to help everyone acquire what they want when attitudes like Zeb's come up. So, you go on ahead, Zeb, sling your wares on the site I work my ass off maintaining every day, without so much as a nod to me. Instead, just give me shit regularly. Nice. BUT, what do I know? I'm just an evil dictator 'taking advantage of the community', right?

See, now this is where these kinds of problems come from.

I try to point out that the decent thing to do would be to acknowledge the work that someone else did and I get accused of a shitty attitude. I don't think that it is out of line to suggest that you could have put a simple line in the post that said something like "Thanks to RoccoC for the design". I see a lot of interest from your end on acknowledging table authors and restrictions on posting unauthorized mods and just thought that maybe hardware could require a bit of the same. Apparently I was wrong.

I don't recall attacking you or your site and if I seemed to be, then I apologize (see, it can be done without playing the victim).

You don't need to be concerned about me peddling my wares on your site any longer, feel free to delete any reference of them.

Oh, and just so it's out there, randr and I worked out any issues on the overlap long before they became issues, like grown-ups.

Thanks again for the ride, but I believe this is my stop.

Zeb, your contributions are invaluable to this community. Don't let an issue with a single individual serve as punishment to the rest of us who GREATLY appreciate all your help.

I would also like to get some credit for starting this, putting time and effort to gather all the info necessary, with the help of many of you guys, as I credited in my first post. Part of the "leg work" as you mentioned was done by me as well, by spending time in research and money in different components, even though I lack the technical expertise you guys have. I try to give credit as much as possible and I think this is the FAIR thing to do. I felt that this thread got hijacked as well, but I always think about the community first and what they will get from all of this, which was the main goal of starting this thread after all. But I have to agree that the lack of transparency and due credit could had been handled in a more friendly/professional manner...

-Kris

Sorry, Zeb, I may have been out of line. It's been a trying few weeks here for me. Of course, you mention 'playing the victim', well, damn near everything I do is met with scrutiny and derision. I'm tired of it.

Since you mention 'like grown ups', though, I'm thinking a courteous PM would have gone a lot further than being snarky in posts. It's not like it was a big surprise when I posted notice I'd be carrying transformers. Something could have been said weeks ago. Of course I'm going to offer the same transformers! Anyone would be a fool not to!

Anyhow, again, I apologize for my comments to you.

Kris, Rocco, and others ...

I'm not sure how you're not getting credit, as everyone who orders one via this post knows it was you guys, and they have thanked you repeatedly. I'm happy to add a credit line on the item. Please provide a list of everyone who deserves credit, and I'll be certain to credit them.

It really amazes me at how differently I'm treated here in almost every instance. It's as if I haven't contributed anything to this community. Do you have any idea how many resources of mine are used in recreations without credit? Everything I offer in my resources are photos taken by me after working a booth for 12-14 hours, and that's just the start of it.

Thank you.

Sad that this is becoming a flame/ego war. I for one don't need ANY credit. Would be nice as it's the fair thing, but I need NONE, really.
I enjoy a pretty sucessful career myself and get plenty of credit for the professional work I do, so no big deal at all.

I'm VERY happy to see people able to use real plasmas in their personal projects. That's all.
I was done doing tests after so much frustration, until Rocco got the working transformers and Russ kindly provided me with a new pinDMD2 since the old one got fried during the tests.

This is a great community, made by great, helpful people. Consider this before more flames are thrown around, good folks.

Come on guys. All It comes down to is building up this amazing hobby we all share. Without this community I wouldn't have ever been able to build my own cab. Please don't let something as petty as this instance break apart a completely awesome gathering of enthusiasts. You all are a huge part of the machine that keeps this culture alive.
