Hi everybody, I just wanted to ask does anyone know how to adjust the number of coins per credit in 90 DMD Williams/Bally tables ?
I am trying to set them to 1 coin 1 credit for right slot and 1 coin 3 credits for centre slot, can anyone help me please ??
I downloaded the manuals for each of the tables let me use Indiana Jones for example and it says go to A3 pricing adjustments,
done that so I want to set A3 - 01 to Custom but it won't give me that option, so how to I work out the maths to do what I want to do

any help would be nice, thank you

Want to have slot1 - 1/5 credit slot2 - 1 credit, any easy way of doing this.

Do you really want slot one to be 1/5 credit (one fifth)?

The answer you seek lies in the ROM pricing settings.

ta2686 is a good person to ask these questions. I think he's been through every corner of every system's ROMs for his tutorials.

If you look through my tutorials for either setting replay levels or balls per game for DMD tables, and click on the link for Bally/Midway/Williams DMD tables, you can find the procedure to at least get into the menu system and then scroll through the adjustment menus to find what you want.

To assist you here, when you enter the menu system using the zero (0) key, scroll through the menus using either the 8 or 9 key to find A -Adjustments, then press the zero key to enter that menu then use the 8 or 9 key to scroll through the menus to find A3 - Pricing Adjustment, then press the zero key to enter that menu selection then scroll through the options using the 9 or 8 key to find menu option 01, and set that to custom and then set menu options 02 through 05 to the amount needed for credit per slot. However I would advise downloading the manual first from the IPDB to find out what you are able to set the slots to before trying to change them.

Sad to say though, looking at the MM ROM options under pricing, Custom does NOT appear as an option in the 01 menu item. The manual says it is available, but the ROM does not have it. So I would say it would depend upon the table if the option is there or not.

Now I can at least configure bally/williams tables. (CC, MM, AFM working)

Just got two table working before I called it quits for today!

The custom is there. It is when you entered the A.3 27 PRICING EDITOR and changed the settings (I did a whole new with clear).
Now the A.3 1 is set to CUSTOM

Hell of a work to change them all. Think the older tables are harder to customise, so maybe it´s better to make them work first as the newer one´s easier to fix.

Thanks for the information! I had thought originally that the pricing editor was fully populated for all WPC tables, as TAF did have the Custom option available without having to go to option 27. Turns out I believe you would have to populate the pricing editor to allow custom to be available.

I agree that it would be a lot of work for each one of those tables, however if TAF already had that populated, maybe other tables already have that populated so Custom would appear when you are in the pricing menu option. Then again, TAF had different options (like the ones I stated in my previous post) than MM, so it would depend on which version of the WPC MPU (as there were several different versions made) if you have to populate the pricing editor or not.

EDIT: After further investigation, you would only have menu item A3:27 (Pricing Editor) only in WPC-S and WPC-95 tables. That would emcompass the follwing tables:

Williams WPC-S (Security) tables:

Corvette, Dirty Harry, Indianapolis 500, Jack-Bot, No Fear: Dangerous Sports, Red and Ted's Roadshow, Flintstones, The Shadow, Theatre of Magic, Who Dunnit, World Cup Soccer '94, Johnny Mnemonic

Williams WPC-95 tables:

Congo, Attack From Mars, Safe Cracker, Ticket-Tac-Toe, Tales of the Arabian Nights, Scared Stiff, Junk Yard, NBA Fastbreak, Medieval Madness, Cirqus Voltaire, No Good Gofers, Champion Pub, Monster Bash, Cactus Canyon

Whereas, WPC DCS tables you have the Custom option in the Coin Door Type menu selection (tables are IJ, JD, ST:TNG, DM, Popeye Saves the Earth)

Any table prior to these follow what I had posted above. This would encompass the following tables:

Williams WPC (Dot Matrix) tables:

Slugfest, Gilligan's Island, Terminator 2 - Judgment Day, Hurricane, Party Zone, Hot Shot

Williams WPC (Fliptronics 1) tables:

Addams Family

Williams WPC (Fliptronics 2) tables:

Getaway - High Speed 2, Black Rose, Doctor Who, Fish Tales, Creature From the Black Lagoon, White Water, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Twilight Zone, Addams Family Gold

The settings of a ROM table are saved to the nvram file with the same name as the rom, located in the NVRAM folder.
