I've had success with three tables for VP9.2.1 to PM5: UW's Pinbot and Fathom, JPSalas' No Fear

I tried The Shadow recently and the ball will not launch from the plunger trough.

Also got Pinbot ( thanks gtxjoe for Help ) and already have Jackbot at 99% ... with Perm. to Upload (soon),
i want to convert more like Baywatch or Hurricane ...

Thalamus, no i think i have another Version ... hm not sure

General: is it worth, in the Time of VPX 10.3, to convert Tables from VP9 to PhysMod5 ?

Imo. there are much Tables, in a very good visual State - with "bad" Physics ... just a Hour or two and a Physmod5 Version will be ready ...

What do you think, Guys ?

of course I would rather play a PM5 version of a table vs a VP9, Would love to know more on the amount of work needed to modify a table.  maybe a vid?  thanks for your hard work

I guess your trouble with Pinbot was the first ramp ? Care to share the solution ?

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

I would also rather play a vp5 version than a vp9. And I also like to see a little tutorial how to convert the table. :dblthumb:

Ok, I'll have to poke GtxJoe - get the fix and compare to the original. I don't see why the ramp is a problem. But, thanks Stat !

The easiest tables are where you just set Table Gravity to 1 and Friction to .07-.05, set the Flipper settings to what is recommended in PhysicsValues.txt and then increase the Bumper Force, Kicker Force by 10-20% and adjust Plunger settings and rubber posts to your liking.

For Pinbot,

The ball was falling through the table in the plunger lane area, not sure why, but I replaced the plunger walls and alpha ramp plunger with the vp9 modern plunger setup and the problem went away.

As for the skillshot ramp, PM5 is real sensitive to tight shots, so I increased the ramp entrance width, so the ball enters cleanly.  I had to increase the plunger strength and this table has ramp helper code to help the ball make it through the long corkscrew ramp, so I bumped up the acceleration there, because PM5 ramps have hardcoded .3 friction setttings.

And JimmyFingers had incorporated his VP9 BMPR dual flippers and dampening scripts into the release, so all that had to be removed, so the PM5 physics is used.

Anyways, maybe I can create a diff package, so you can download Jimmy VP9 release and apply the diff patch to get the PM5 version
