Something else I have to try and fix is the Nanotech plunger.  It animates fine but it doesn't launch the ball for some reason.  When I get back from the gym and grocery shopping today I'll take a look at the script.

Best Regards,

Todd.

I will investigate this but need a few hours. I'll be back :-)

Just a few minutes later. ;)

Sorry, Bob, a bug in the designer but you are able to fix the backglass immediatelly. You have to change three settings in the backglass project.

Please click on the LED score display 1. In the 'Reel & LED tool' window you'll see in 'B2S start digit' the value '1'. Now click on the LED score display 2. 'B2S start digit' is once again '1'. Since display 1 contains 7 digits this value has to be '8' (or more). So please enter '8' here. LED score display 3 is once again '1'. Change it to '11' and change this value for the LED score display 4 to '12'. Now everything will work perfectly.

Once again, sorry, these values have to be confirmed by the designer but I missed this check in the current designer version. This will be added in the final version.

Maybe, Bob, try the rendered LEDs. But of course this is absolutely your art decision.

Without the backglass designer how do I fix this?

I changed the 'B2S start digit' values and understand this setting now, but I don't underwstand why it worked for me with the other settings.

I tried the rendered LED's, they are very nice, I still could make them blue, I didn't even look at this option before as I learn by doing, not reading the manual. :) It is very nice that they remove the lead zeroes from the score, I guess an option not to do this would be nice, but I like them removed on this table.

I think I'll wait for Todd to look at the plunger script before I re-upload, I just copied and pasted the plunger script form some table and can't test it as I don't have a cab, which means I don't have a real plunger on my keyboard. :) I looked at a JPS table and script and compared to find something different in the tables, I noticed his plunger timer interval is 10, where this one was set to 100, I changed this, but can't test it.

It is super easy to edit these directB2S backglasses compared to the old way, this is a huge advancement and I can't say anything about it which is a pain in the ass to do. I did notice that once I create a light or reel box, I can't delete it, I can do undo to remove the last one I added, but I can't just click on one and delete it, this would make it hard to use old backglass as a template. I assume this is something which hasn't been implemented yet.

Bob, just click on 'Show reel or LED frames' or 'Show illumination frame', click on a frame to highlight it and press the 'DEL' key. And it's gone. ;)

Haha. that works too. :) I think I always had the focus on the info box when trying to delete one and/or trying to use the "cut" option under the "Edit" area, might be nice to add a "Delete" option under "Edit" or have the "cut" do it as I am use to using [cont] + x.

Sorry, I just got back from all my errands just now so here's the fix for the Nanotech plunger:

Select the plunger object and in the properties, put a checkmark in the "enable mechanical plunger" box and the ball will be launched when used with the pinball wizard or the Nanotech plunger.

Best Regards,

Todd.

Cool, I always uncheck those since I don't have a Nanotech plunger. What about those boxes on the backdrop? PBW accelerometer and Normal Mounting? And do any of these boxes effect people who don't use or need them? I guess my question is, why have check boxes if they don't need to be unchecked?

These are the settings I usually adjust when I notice something isn't quite right.

PBW Accelerometer needs to be checked or the "nudge" sensor won't work

Normal Mounting should be checked as well but people who mount the Nanotech board differently need to uncheck this and then set the number of degrees for the rotation in the box below if they have mounted the board differently.  (it determines the position of the Nanotech plunger board so I always make sure it's checked for my cab)

On the backdrop, I have the "filter mechanical plunger" box unchecked - I think this is the default setting.

Best Regards,

Todd.

Thanks Todd, it looks like JP releases his tables with the "enable mechanical plunger" box unchecked and the other 2 boxes checked. I am still not sure why. :) I guess anyone with a mechanical plunger should know how to make them work, so I'll leave it unchecked.

The newer method utilizes an analog controlled impulse plunger to launch the ball and doesn't rely on 'hitting' the ball with the plunger (which requires enabling the mechanical plunger). In my experience, this allows for greater consistency and will act exactly the same as using the plunger button to launch from the same amount of pull back.

Hey Koadic, why is it when I load the latest VP from your sig that when I hit ESC, the top choice is Resume Game and when I load any other version from the past and hit ESC, the top choice is Quit. Seems like a little thing, but if you have used it the other way for 12 years, I seem to hit the wrong one with the mouse every time. :)

Thanks for the plunger info.

It was changed recently (not by me) to reflect the order that the choices are selected when the menu pops up. Resume was on bottom, but it was still the first choice highlighted when the pause menu is opened. The order is the same, but was 'visually fixed' to correspond with the functional order (default selection on top)

Hi Bob, if you check out my updated High Speed, you can see the plunger mod that I used from Koadic in a VP table as well as in his demo table.

http://www.vpforums....=22432&p=205278

If I understand the code and Koadic's explanation and his notes in the demo table, the IMPlunger power is determined by how much the plunger is pulled back.

Koadic, please correct me if I'm wrong!

Best Regards,

Todd.
