Very cool.  Seems like that would be a great place for the cameras to be able to track easily.

I still think the dmd panel is best spot. Top of backbox is worse location!!! And everyone thinks that's the spot to mount them, not a good place at all. But that's first time I've seen them mounted under playfield glass. Is cool but may be very hard to configure for proper depth/3d look? Not sure haven't tried it like that

It works great. I can't do the dmd placement for obvious reasons ;)
Unscientific but I think they work better under glass because of glare. My ambient room light no longer matters at all. After top of backbox I set them on the glass planning to incorporate into still unfinished trim. As with top it worked best main overhead light was off. Now it doesn't matter!

And the cameras basically disappear under glass!

Does it detect forward and back ok? I suppose if it's calibrated in that position I suppose it will work huh

Seems to... I need to tweek. View is a little "top down" not the layback I like. More top down than static cam...

I changed my nudge buttons to rectangles. I would occasionally have a friend tilt because they were hitting the wrong one. Now, it's clear and people not only don't accidentally nudge they are more likely to use it! I like it better too!

I really like the backglass, I didn't think I would. Can you post a picture of Black Knight 2000 or something solid state with a DMD running on the backglass?

Nice build so far, the head tracking is interesting, does it work with Kinect?

Thanks, missed this somehow... I'll snap a B2K pic this weekend. Don't know about Kinect, I tried it first, before ps2 but at the time it didn't work well then. Ps2 worked well but to be honest I don't love it. Not really as cool as YouTube videos...

Didn't get a chance to fire up the cab but realized I hadn't updated my Phase 1 of force feedback. I copied the idea from the hyperpin thread (I think). 2 starter solenoids connected to 1 old 12v laptop power supply. Note the dual Leaf switches on the flipper buttons. Works GREAT! Phase 2 is full dof setup. Can't wait for that!!

Here's a couple bg pics. They get stretched vertically a little but not too bad IMHO. EM's look great!

How well does the Tankstick work with VP?  I have one connected to a MAME machine I have but I've never tried it with VP.

It worked fine. The original leaf buttons in the cab are WAY COOLER than the Happ-wanna-be's they use (I've had a couple go bad replaced with Happ). And no replacing putting your palms on the lockbar etc...

Funny you should ask though, as I recently blew the dust off of the tankstick in prep for finally starting the mame cab that my pinball obsession has delayed! I was waiting for my pinball obsession to subside but that's clearly no time soon!

Yeah, I have an older PC I use for MAME downstairs and I use the Tankstick for my PS3 fighting games also. Thing is a beast. I'll have to check it out in VP sometime. Easy to configure?

Easy as pie. Configure buttons in vp. Then start figuring out how to rearrange the furniture to accommodate the cab you're gonna want to build ;)

Thanks for the info. Already looking at building/buying a cabinet for the MAME computer. I'm sure the wife would love me making a pinball cab also

Thought I'd update pics with new buttons and AWESOME Zeb Plunger. Launch button fit nicely in old plunger hole and now, with plunger lower I'm able to get pf monitor right up to lockbar. Need to touch up some black...

Thanks!
So, I put all that mess in the cab and I couldn't stand the little monitor. When I found the perfect monitor I went back and got another for the studio but really as a backup.

Now I need a new backup because I sunk in in the cab for a traditional sized backglass.

TOTALLY FREAKIN LOVE IT!!! Can't sing it loud enough!!

I have half of the backbox trim to copy.

were do you get your full screen em tables from because I cant find them for my visual pinball build
