Manufacturer: Stern
Year: 2001
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

Austin Powers Table Tune-Up by members of VPin Workshop Discord. This was going to be just a fast rework for this fine table, but we ended up doing way more.

Includes Desktop, Cab and VR versions in one VPX file as well as two POV files.

  • nFozzy Physics: Benji, iaakki, Rothbauerw, Javier
  • PF rework, graphics: iaakki, EBisLit, Tomate, Brad1x
  • Inserts and lights: iaakki
  • VR work & Various Fixes: Sixtoe
  • Ramp plastics: Benji
  • Fleep's Sound package integration: Benji
  • 3D model changes: Benji, Tomate, Sixtoe
  • Various script changes by iaakki, Javier
  • Testing: people of VPin Workshop Discord, Rik Laubach

We also included a new flipper trick with Rothbauerw to physics. It is called FlipNudge. One can use it for slowing the ball on the bat by spamming the other bat. Deadflip calls this "Fanning", but it was a lame name.

This release wouldn't have been possible without the legacy of those who came before us including, most notably, Javier, 32Assassin, DStruct, Francisco666, Rom, ClarkKent and Ninuzzu

Thank you to Flupper for 3D insert techniques and Flasher domes.
Thank you to Fleep for the sound package.
Thank you to Rothbauerw and NFozzy for physics.
Thank you to Wrd1972 for bouncy standup targets.

Wow, this is awesome, teams of highly experienced programmers, developers and artists all coming together to keep refining and improving all the beloved and classic tables. It's almost like working for a real software company but without the pay and benefits.  My payment to you all is that I simply say thanks to each of you for giving your time and talents to this awesome hobby. Much appreciated everyone. -MRJC

P.S. Dang there is some really nice physics, math, functions and ball tracking subroutines in the table script. I can am learning a lot from you guys. Maybe some day I can be a contributor. - Best Wishes.

I've only modded tables for like 6 months and learnt so much by just chatting and debugging with people in Discord. If you want to join the team, you are very welcome. Send me a DM and I can send you an invite link to our discord. We are also looking for more people to do testing of our Beta versions so others can DM too for an invite. The more the merrier.

Ok we have a fix for this. Would you like to test it before we roll it out? Also if any of you find some issues, post them up and we can include them in the update.

Hi all and especially VPin Workshop people.

I love to play this fun table and had this issue a few times.

During a Multiball, when it gets hectic sometimes, i fired balls just up to keep it steady in the bottom area.

During this process one ball goes up (yellow) hits the edge where the blue contact is and jumps (green) and gets trapped inside of the red-marked area (the plastic with the bumper). (Colors referenced to the image i try to attach here)

Nothing else helps than quitting the game and restarting. No nudging, tilting anything. This is no big deal but kind of "grrrr" when you have a good score. Maybe you/someone could have a look at this?

I've seen balls jumping of target more than a few times. To me it sounds like a easy fix though. You can create a wall, with hidden properties over that area and it should solve the problem permanently.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Thanks Thalamus - could have tried that myself *doh*

But that would be a non permanent solution if there are updates to come. Guess people are aware of it by now and there might be no updates.

Few posts up i saw it mentioned before and a fix was called "done" - so my hope is that there is an official fix for this. Other than that I'll try your suggestion.

Yes. Of course, getting the guys to update it is always the preferred solution in that it will be in place for any further updates, just like you mention. But, then again. If it is a quick fix, and the table hasn't been touched in a while. Then we both know that applying simple fix can last for years to come. AND, the added benefit, is you get to learn something on the way if you don't know this stuff already. Very beneficial if there are other table with similar issues. And, I can assure you, there are.

Ok, thanks Thalamus. I agree with you. Being a developer myself i know how the Sourcecode "lives" after you might be (probably) finished...

I'll give it a try on the weekend. Thanks for your help!
