One of the prettiest of the Bally tables, with 3 ball multiball.
This was a bit of a challenge. The way I map all 4 players to 1 display, was tough to implement on this multi-ball game.
On older Bally SS games, they had 4 lights on the backglass to indicate which player was up. On those tables I just checked the status of those lights to decide which player got mapped to the big display. Easy!
Then on Flash Gordon and EightBallChamp, Bally no longer used the 4 player up lights. They just flashed the display of the player that was up. In a 1 ball game, keeping track of the number of players, and incrementing was fairly easy. The ball hit the drain, and if the the shoot again light wasnt on, advance to the next player.
On this table, we have the flashing display thing, and up to 3 balls! I couldnt do the simple drain check thing. I had to keep track of any balls kicked onto the playfield, and ignore any hitting the drain, except the final ball. I think I got it, but I wouldnt be supprised if something odd happened like if you released a traped ball at the exact instance that the main ball drained. So far I have had no problems, but who knows?
