eight ball deluxe

I've loved Eight Ball Deluxe since having the occasional chances to play on the real thing as a child (I think I was about 8 at the time, and I'm now 53). I love Martin Brunker's excellent rendition of Eight Ball Deluxe, but I always felt I wanted to make a few small changes. This is my first attempt at a project like this - uploaded with his permission.
Actual gameplay itself is identical, and nothing has been changed, except I slightly reduced the table slope, to make the game play just a little slower and less aggressively. The graphics and artwork on the table itself and cabinet are completely unchanged.
I wanted the speech to sound more like to the original machine, so I hunted around and found a copy of the original Squawk-n-Talk voices from here: https://sounds.sprit...y/asset/448284/. I originally just linked samples together (eg "Get the" + "5-Ball"), but the voices sounded a little flat and thin. So I ran an EQ over all the voice samples with Audacity, and the result being they sound much more full and weighty. Some voice samples may sound just a tiny bit distorted; this is by design. I've also added the famous "Quit Talking and Start Chalking" and "Eight Ball Deluxe" during attract mode - both before the first game and in between games. The original machine had delays between playing the speech in attract mode, and I have emulated this, including making the samples loop periodically if no new game is started. On loading the table, you will need to wait a few moments to hear the attract mode speech - again, by design.
While I appreciate the default game room that comes with Future Pinball, I wanted to stretch my (very basic) graphics skills, so I designed a simple wall/floor texture (textures thanks to http://pexels.com) - I hope you like it. I have 3D models of other arcade machines flanking the table (no copyright infringement intended, please let me know if there are any problems). The shadows on the wall and floor could probably be improved, but that's the best I can do at this time.
Of course, the most important thing is the gameplay - and this table has it in spades. It's incredibly addictive ("just one more go!") and lots of fun to play. At the honour for that goes squarely to Martin Brunker - well done Sir. I hope you enjoy my modifications.
