Download Phantom Haus (Williams 1996) 1.0
17 Votes
WPC Desktop
This is Phantom Haus by Williams. It is not a pinball machine but an amusement game, built around a 3-wheel slot machine.
The slot machine can be used to earn credits and to enter the central game mode "Phantom Haus" where several video minigames are availiable.
The prototype run was mainly made for Europe, hence the German playfield texts. The language can be changed mid-game between English, German and French with a separate playfield button.
Recreating this unusual machine was quite fun. Unfortunately it will be difficult to run on a cabinet, as there are 9 to 10 buttons necessary to operate all game modes.
I created a vbs file, that must be placed in the scripts folder (..\Visual Pinball\Scripts).
Within the table code, You can assign different keyboard keys, if You feel the need. The changed values will then also be displayed in the keybord help menu (F2) during gameplay.
The table uses for now mostly the images, availiable on ipdb.org. I will update the table, once I get better images.
Text files, containing detailed table rules in English and German are included in the download file.
Fun fact: this is one of the few non-pinball machines, that have an ipdb number.
The ROM file needed is "ph_04.zip".
Have fun
Michael

Very fun for a change of pace. Thank you got sharing.
The ROM from vpuniverse is fine. Try to hit all of Your keybord keys after another. At one point there should be a green dotted overlay visible on the bottom of Your screen. Then You just have to find the key, that increases this volume setting (max is to the left).
Hi again, yeah, tried that but still no joy. Normally Williams WPC Games you just hit End and then 8 and 9 for volume adjust but not this time, could it be something to do with the VBS script you included? Or maybe I need a later addition of VPinMame, I'm running 3.5 though.
Hi Rivermatty,
I do think, none of that should be an issue. If I am running VPinMame 3.5, everything is as it should. The 2 keys betwee "0" and backspace "<--" are setting the master volume. This is displayed on the screen, not on the DMD.

Yes but those keys just adjust your internal PC mixer volume. What I'm trying to find is how to change the Rom volume but never mind, you've certainly tried to help, it's probably something to do with my set up anyway so don't worry about it, really nice emulation though even if it's not a Pinball Machine. I never knew Williams even dabbled with slot machines.
Thank you for this!,
Works just fine, I like it. Now I just need to remap some buttons I think this one has like 12 buttons.
I think you need to set the refill key to be able to change the volume with 8 and 9 keys.

Sorry, what do you mean by the Refill Key?
