Download Phantom Haus (Williams 1996) 1.0
17 Votes
WPC Desktop
This is Phantom Haus by Williams. It is not a pinball machine but an amusement game, built around a 3-wheel slot machine.
The slot machine can be used to earn credits and to enter the central game mode "Phantom Haus" where several video minigames are availiable.
The prototype run was mainly made for Europe, hence the German playfield texts. The language can be changed mid-game between English, German and French with a separate playfield button.
Recreating this unusual machine was quite fun. Unfortunately it will be difficult to run on a cabinet, as there are 9 to 10 buttons necessary to operate all game modes.
I created a vbs file, that must be placed in the scripts folder (..\Visual Pinball\Scripts).
Within the table code, You can assign different keyboard keys, if You feel the need. The changed values will then also be displayed in the keybord help menu (F2) during gameplay.
The table uses for now mostly the images, availiable on ipdb.org. I will update the table, once I get better images.
Text files, containing detailed table rules in English and German are included in the download file.
Fun fact: this is one of the few non-pinball machines, that have an ipdb number.
The ROM file needed is "ph_04.zip".
Have fun
Michael

Hi, thanks for this, not getting any sound though, checked in vpin mame and volumes are all set to 100. 8 and 9 keys don't do anything and End just restarts the dmd. Any ideas?

For me the 2 keys right of "0" on the main keyboard are adjusting the volume ("ß" and "´").
If You want to enter the ROM menu, keep "End" pressed while navigating with the "7" to "0" keys. Press F2 for a detailed keyboard help.

Thanks, just tried all those suggestions but nothing did anything. Wonder if I have a bad rom, got it from vpunivers is that where yours came from?

Make sure your ROM wasn't compressed in 7z format rather than standard. If so, extract contents and recompress with standard format, put in ROM folder and you should be good to go.

Still no joy but thanks for all your suggestions.
By changing the Coin Door Switch in your vbs I was able to access the Rom Function Menus by pressing the End Key but there's no adjustment for the volume in there except changing the minimum volume setting but that didn't help either.
The sound is there actually but it is extremely quiet and if I turn my main volume up to 100 I can just hear it but there must be a way of changing the Rom volume somewhere.
Anyway I'm going to leave it for now but thanks for all your help anyway.
