Download Aztec High-Tapped 1.0

Some years ago, I bought a Williams Aztec pinball machine from someone who had kept it stored in their garage for who-knows-how-long. After getting it up and running, I found the gameplay to be fun but a little slow and sluggish for my taste.
 
One day a pinball tech was at the house working on some of my games. I mentioned to him that I wished the Aztec had a bit more pep to it. “Want me to ‘high-tap’ it?” he asked. He explained that EMs of that era often had an extra high-power lug available on the power transformer. The games came factory-wired to a normal lug on the transformer, but wiring them to the secondary high-power lug would, in effect, put the game on steroids. “Hell yeah,” I said, “let’s do it!”
 
High-tapping that Aztec changed the game! Faster… crisper… everything that flipped or kicked now flipped or kicked harder. It went from being somewhat boring to being what remains one of my top 3 all-time favorite EMs. Sadly, I sold the machine a few years later and have regretted it ever since.
 
When I waded into virtual pinball last year, I couldn’t wait to play the VPX re-creation of Aztec. Slowly but surely learning my way around the VPX editor, I started tweaking TeamPP’s re-creation of Aztec here and there to make it play more like the old faithful high-tapped game I had owned. I believe I have nailed it to the best of my ability.
 
This is my first attempt at a mod, although the credit goes to TeamPP (JPJ, Chucky, and Arngrim) for their most excellent re-creation of Aztec, along with their generous permission to mod without approval. I hope some of you who like EMs will enjoy Aztec High-Tapped!
