Playboy 35th anniversary by JPSalas , Based on the table by Data East from 1989
This is my first effort at a VPX table, so if you venture into the script, you'll find a teenager's bedroom not an orderly structured work, but it works. The script is in part a port of my VP8 template, but also large amounts of JPs script for physics and ball sounds and the like, and Ichigo's input for the B2S calls.
TEST PILOTS uses original artwork, music and sounds. It is not a licenced theme or existing IP, any similarity to existing IP is coincidental. This is not a recreation. The layout has also had some modifications but still resembles the doner table.
Enormous help from:
JPSalas for physics, flippers, ball sounds
Ichigo for B2S crash course, and his amazing work on the backglass which made it all possible.
Both these guys are absolute legends.
GAME SPECIFIC FEATURES
TOP LANES: Completing lanes steps up the Bonus Multiplier to 2x, 3x, 4x & 5x. etc. You can rack up more times than the lights, they all flash when you exceed 5x.
FIGHTER: Spell FIGHTER by hitting each of the targets and receive the value of all "bombs" lit in the left hand collumn of lights. EG if you have lit the first three you will recieve 50k, 100k and 150k for a total of 200k. The bombs in the left collumn are lit by hitting the kicker near the left in lane. They are each 50k more than the light before them. So if you light them all you get 50k+100k+150K+200k+250k+300K.
Shoot the left and right ramps to re-light the kick back in the left out lane.
HANGER X : Any ramp shot spots a letter in the word HANGERX shown on the displays and back panel. Spelling the word HANGERX then shooting the ramps again increases the table multiplier by 1. ALL scoring is multiplied by this figure, (5x maximum, at 5 the three X lights will flash.) so after the first time completing it, scoring is doubled, second time tripled etc.
Drop the drop targets to set the target set light flashing, drop again to activate STEALTH MODE. STEALH MODE lasts one minute and DOUBLES all points on the table!
PROTOTYPE LAB: Complete the centre target bank Prototype targets in the prototype lab to light right hand bomb collumn lights. When all are lit, a final hit of the three targets lights the shot to the right of the top lanes. Hit that to light the kicker near the left in lane, hit that to activate the left ramp diverter to infiltrate the enemy hanger and steal their plans. Then shooting that ramp will access the apron ramp and kicker, activating a 4 ball multiball mode. During any multiball, scoring doubles.
STRATOSPHERE MULTI-BALL: Lock 2 balls in the stratosphere to enable the multiball feature. Shooting either ramp shot releases the locked balls. During any multiball, scoring doubles.
LOOP SHOTS: Hit left or right lamp to light loop shots. Hit them again for doubled points, growing exponentially until the loop time expires.

What's New in Version 1.1 (See full changelog)
- VERSION 1.1:
- Minor bug fixes. Resolved desktop display not clearing in cabinet mode. This version is now by default NOT desktop mode. To enable the dewsktop displays, change the DTMode variable near top of script to 1.
- Included two new b2s files. Both are 2 screen with a grill for the dmd included. One is standard, and will work on 2 screen cabinets. The other is INVERTED and is included for use by those who have three screen or 2 screen cabinets configured such that the normal b2s scores are not displayed. It positions the grill and dmd at the top[ of the backglass, so they are not cropped in some system configurations, facilitating play on 3 screen cabinets until a working three screen b2s exists.
- Also includes a new wheel, with art from the backglass.

You can set the desktop variable to 0 near the top of the script, or press 7 on your keyboard while the game is running to remove that desktop score panel..
The backglass is DirectB2S, so if you have that installed it will run.the b2s scripts also have a variable near the top right f the script which is set to 1 by default, setting to zero disables it. If you press 8 while the table is running it toggles that one.
NIce looking table, Anthias. Thanks for sharing! Same as Nick. Changing script to 0 still gives the black score box. Only way is to press 7. Backglass full dmd shows no score, need to show Grilll (in B2sserver) to see scores on backglass, Running latest VPX en backglassserver. FYI!
I can't replicate that on my Frankensystem. Perhaps you can drag them out of the viewable area on the backglass in the editor?

For those wanting a bit of the story for this table, it occurs to me nobody but me knows it since the anime doesn't exist outside my head!
So: the three central characters on the playfield - two girl test pilots and their mechanic. They are successful at what they do, in part because, in their universe a somewhat Taoist regime of gods is in force - And they have garnered the favour of the godesses of the runway, and the hanger (the two ladies on the backglass if you were wondering about them.)
Of the supporting cast, you can see a man who is the chief mechanic, the blond woman who is the commander of the entire facility, the dark haired mistress of the local restaurant and bar where all the workers from the base go to relax (seen here pointing somebody to the door for being too rowdy) as well as other pilots and mechanics from the base who the main three are in friendly competition with.
Obviously there is scope for a few storylines in there, but I haven't written them at this point.

Forgot to mention, table uses B2S, but you will find two variables near the top of the script with instructions to toggle on or off both the desktop display, and the B2S script. Alternatively pressing 7 will toggle DT display, and pressing 8 will toggle B2S scripts.
