Initial announcement from Jeff:
Jack in the Box (1973)
Table build/scripting Loserman76
Images from dboyrecords' Jumping Jack VP9x table
"Baked-in" lit playfield lighting corrections by Hauntfreaks
"Unlit" playfield courtesy of Kiwi
Backglass image by Wildman
I owned the game ~ 1979 - '81, so game play and "feeling" of the table is well known. I offer you here "my"
Version 1.0c
- new physic (cab optimized),
° now the ball "dances" around the bumper as in the original game
° when the ball runs in it crosses from the left lane into the right kicker hole and vs.
° more fun to play
- many new sounds
- improved ball and ball position in the plunger lane
- the bumper triggers are now in colored plastic
- new POV for cab use
- in game over state the plastics illumination stays on (the original behavior of all Gottlieb EMs)
Version 1.0c2 Thanks goes to jejepinball and kiwi for the hint how to trigger both bumpers simultaneously. This is now realized.
Version 1.0d Leeoneil made the following enrichment to the table:
- draw the plastics in VPX, there are now in 3d with light reflection
- add shadows layer for the GI and for tilt
- Add dynamic DropTarget shadows
- adjust ball shadow
- add SSF command in the script
- change the ball rolling sound
Version 1.0d2 Leeoneil made the following enrichment to the table:
- improved shadows through the targets
- DOF commands reviewed
- installation of new plastics provided by Kiwi
I was able to make this update:
- new left flipper fingers (without the back spot at the tip in rest position), thanks to Mrtr32
Version 1.0e
- ALL object sounds in operation and volume level balanced
- new material assignment and surface picture (JPSalas) for metal guides at upper flippers
- BG with more bulbs and improved light control - like the original
- BG now with "turning" score reels
Version 1.0f (replaces by 1.0f2)
- typical flat Gottlieb- styled drop targets
- new lighting concept for the BG using snippits
- "SHOOT AGAIN" added in BG using snippit
- new pics for cab- users
- now with file attached, thanks to nagaidevil for his pm
Version 1.0f2
- new SHOOT AGAIN snippit graphic ennobled by STAT (thank you!)
-> now all light indicators show the same over exposition at the letter edges
All this in kind tribute to Jeff Whitehead.

Thank you for your work !
For your question : you can use the method PlayHit() for activate the animation of the second bumper :
but it activate only the animation, not the method _Hit(), so if you want to add score and show lights, you must add the code of the Bumper1_Hit() into Bumper2_Hit() and vice-versa.
Example with the first bumper hit :
Sub Bumper1_Hit
If TableTilted=false then
Bumper2.PlayHit()
...
end if
End Sub
This is pretty damn nice.
Thank you Mustang. I'm sure Loserman76 would be happy with your refinements. Keep going !
Mustang. always love a meaningful update to Losermans tables. 2 suggestions, you should get with Leeoniel, not sure if he is here but he is doing updates to LMs tables over at VPuniverse and team up because he is even redoing the dof. also, the ball image is not very nice. if you are looking for a brighter version of the ballHDR then its out there. if not find one from JPs tables. otherwise nice job and thanks
Hello !
I did the visual update (shadows, lights, etc), add some SSF script for Mustang
...
The ball image is too dark for me, already tell Mustang, but i don't know, he love this one... So on my pincab i change the image ! ![]()

edit : hmmm, i'm not happy with the plastics rendering on the pincab... I'll do some changes tonight to correct it, sorry for that !
One of my favourite EM tables. Absolutely great work!
Thank you very much.
Maybe some day there is support for DOF? Would be perfect.

Guess what ?
I didn't check if there was some DOF ! For me it was ok but i didn't check... I was to in a hurry !
So i'll do it as fast as possible !
